Sheed is progressing well.
He's a kid and is showing good signs both possessions and options.
Don't know what the fuss is about.
I get it but all players develop at a different rate.No Fuss just getting grief, for saying he can have a bit more impact in games, he has the talent to do it, then you get told he's young only played so many games, was just showing that there is still other young player's having impact ! Im liking what I see so far even suprised with his pace and how he gets around the ground, But if we do make Finals he needs to pull a little more weight if he's going to play in our midfield

Plus I don't think playing as asub all the time helps his cause.
agree to some extent with this, but X has A grade poise and Yeo is an enticing prospect.Sheed is tracking along nicely and has shown glimpses of what it to come. Some of his passing last night was very pleasing.
Whilst instant impact is nice to get from a first year player it's an exception rather than the rule that this happens with.
At the very least with the exception of Shuey ..... Sheed projects like a better quality player than the current midfielders that we have . So that a marked improvement moving forward.
I would like Dom to go back to the WAFL and DOMinate a game now that he's had some exposure at AFL level.
Give him some confidence
If Dunstan didn't get injured he would have had the best year and won rising star IMO Bontempelli has been very good the second half of the season . Both Aish and taylor have had opportunity due to severe lack of depth and injury at Brisbane that first year players just wouldn't normally get . Aish has had some great games and also some stinkers .
Langdon got shaws old role and had been good but faded . Also a year older .
As for sheed he keeps showing us very good signs he is going to be a great player for us in both his work in traffic and skill execution .
BTW does he seem taller than 185cm he is listed at or is it his lanky frame making him look taller ?
Only ten disposals, depends how much time on ground he got. If he was playing in the dees forward half, may have seen less of the ball. He's actually got lucky as sub, with injuries has nearly played a few full games as sub, Just waiting for that stand out game I think he's not that far away from it, 10 disposals in 3 quarters against Melbourne is just not quite enough for me , but did some nice things !
Yeah definitely looks taller than 185cm.
He also looked quite a bit smaller than Vince in a contest on the wing last night, who is 188 cm. I'd say Sheed is around 185 cm.Was a picture of him standing next to Yeo, who is what? 190? 191?
Sheed looked about 189 in that picture.
He has been showing improvement, month on month, as the season draws on.
I particularly like his evasiveness in close; we should see more of this as he gets more time on the inside.
He really needs to work on his set shots for goal, though.
The next Pendlebury?
It was good to head along to the game so I could watch players, like Shred, more carefully off the ball.
Here were a few notes I took from the game.
We certainly have a keeper here, just needs time and an extended run at AFL level to find his feet.
- It seems as though Shred was rotating between mostly the forward line, but also spent time on the wing, with stints on the ball. I often noticed when he wasn't on the ball, people like Coxy would push him back off the ball to provide an option rather than getting drawn into the contest, which would correlate with fewer possessions.
- He rarely would lead short for the easy possession, often preferring the longer lead. He only once dropped short on the kick-in to pick up a cheapy from E.Mac. Definitely an area he could improve on, and a great way to build some confidence especially early on in games.
- I tend to agree with the people above that have suggested that he has more than likely been told to play more of an outside role, contrary to his natural inside tenancies. More than once I saw him move toward the contest, only to pull out at the last minute.
- His kicking is way more than just 'adequate' which has been suggested by some previously. He seems to be one of those types that can create more time and space for themselves, ala Pendles, and then lowers the eyes and doesn't rush the kick. His kicking, perhaps not elite yet, is very impressive, and was on show with those two phenomenal forward-50 entries.
- He has an excellent ability to free his arms during tackles, enabling the opportunity for a hand-pass. I saw this a couple of times, and this is certainly something a few of our other mids can learn from.
Really seems like he struggles for distance when not on the run. If he's kicking from 35+ out it looks like he changes his kicking style a little and this could be affecting his accuracy
I agree it's a sh*t nickname, but you do realise it occurred by accident (ie. a typo) when he was originally drafted, as the R is next to the E.Can you please stop calling him Shred? Everybody else ceased with that nickname weeks ago.
He does not Shred, not one bit. It makes no sense, and it doesn't even sound like Sheed. It sounds like Bed, or Ned. That is what it sounds like.
It's like calling Scotty Selwood "Toilet"

It was never supposed to sound like Sheed or be descriptive of his style of play.
