Dom Sheed

He would have to work on his fitness. Strength doesn't seem to be a huge issue so he could be in for a preseason like Yeo had last year.
I think he needs some sort of specialist running training,he really struggles.when he was running into goal and had that shot he looked awkward

He had some in his first few preseasons. His goal kicking is up and down at times.

Dom can get a lot fitter, that's where his game can go to the next level.
Offensively he is playing great footy, and his forward play is improving as well.
Defensively he is still a liability though, his defensive running is very poor, but that's
due to his lack of fitness.
Hopefully this preseason he can do every session and get rid of his sloppy rig.

he needs different genes, sorry poor drafting against our needs again
Poor drafting? He's one of our few shining lights at the moment. Definitely fills a 'need' once Priddis goes.

How romantic, he is slow lacks awareness and poise - i.e. an average footballer

get rid of his sloppy rig.
He has a the bicep vein running up through his shoulder

You don't generally have this if you have a sloppy rig.

Slow, I'll concede

Lacks awareness and poise? Dreadfully incorrect.

'Sloppy rig' is harsh but Dom was definitely leaner when he was drafted. Has always been in exceptional shape but this year has somewhat fallen back with the pack in that regard.

Everyones obsession with pace is so frustrating.....Does Pendlebury have pace? Does Mitchell have pace? No, yet they are regarded as two of the finest midfielders of our time. Hawthorn's threepeat premiership winning midfield was set up around Mitchell and Lewis, two very slow players. You know what made them outstanding? Grit, footskills and footy smarts, all of which Sheed has. Pace is not the be all, end all and is only really necessary on the wings, half back and as a nippy small forward. I would rather have Sheed's left foot than somebody who is quick but can't kick.

Overall, Dom is shaping up as a huge success for the club and the 2013 draft looks good as a whole with Barrass too. Surely people can share my enthusiasm for what he could be after the last two weeks because we could have a midfield star developing before our eyes. Let's hope he can keep it up.

No matter how good a player is there'll be people who say he isn't or will overlook positive attributes to focus on negatives

This board has turned that tendency into an art form

This board has a bit of a focus on

1) Pick our worst area (midfield)
2) Name its worst attribute (pace)
3) Get that attribute at expense of any other
4) Problem solved

Agreed, trading one of our best mids(gaff) to improve our.midfield..
I understand you need to give something to get something but like some have suggested already lycett, darling or maybe Scofield would be better options

3) Sheed has jumped into the Top 5 after not even being in the Top 10 3 weeks ago. He's been named in our Top 3 players for the last 3 weeks. Great effort.

This hasn't even taken into account the Gold Coast game yet.
With all the Yeo-hype, I think Sheed's development has crept up on a few of us.
Wonder how much it has to do with Priddis being relied on less and less (starting on bench) each game?

I like the way he responded to get back into team. Will show dramatic improvement next year.
