umm so u guys want the umpiring in game to give wrong decisions or non decisions on clearly out calls.
So that u can then get to use a referral an have the decision changed.

What a waste of time its a game ffs it has the ability to get decisions right everytime meaning no need for referrals.

To implement that they will have to implememnt crap umpiring decisions randomly throughout a game.

Theres realism for the sake of realism an then theres common sense

The avg gamer doesnt know the rules 100% there not going to know when they would need to refer, so they will blow them all then later on the randomly crap umpiring thing happens an they will have none left.

Stupid rule in cricket an even stupider in a game.
there should be no limits to referrals an it should be called for by the umpires.
You either want every decision to be correct meaning how ever many referrals needed or u go back an have no referral system an hope it all evens out in the long run.

lol @ you

Why would the average gamer buy the game in the first place if they don't like cricket.

Also if they like cricket, they would probably have watched some of the first three tests so far this summer, and it has been referrals galore, they might not know the rules 100%, but they are going to know the referral rule mate

Just to make a point, in Ashes 09 there are LBW appeals for balls hitting the pad way way outside off/leg stump. Imagine if there was a bug, or a minor error with the AI or whatever it is, an that was given out, you could refer it to the third umpire, look at the replay and a decision would be made.

It's strange that while this is a different publisher they seem to have the same stance on giving out info as HES/Tru Blue...

You'd think that if this game was any chance to do well in sales they'd want to get the hype train moving while the Aussies are still the slightest of slight chances of winning back the Ashes. Otherwise this will just fall by the wayside after everyone now knows the Aussies are shite and couldn't win a root in a brothel.

I dunno what's going on, but it's very strange to announce it and then have nothing when it's supposedly so close to coming out and in a prime Cricket marketing period.

I agree......whats the saying - "over promise - under deliver". If the game is going to be ready in 4 months then deliver it in three and everyone is happy. But if it takes longer and you provide no updates then everybody loses faith AND interest.

Cricket was supposed to be released in "the summer of 2010". Well with 2 months to go and still no updates or announcements I feel that we will be let down again. Just like AFL...when was that originally announced - Nov 2008? And still nothing. Rugby League was perfect. The game came from knowhere, it was announced and released on time...perfection! As for the AFL and Cricket games - very dissappointing.

Lift you game guys....! Or better still - say nothing to start with!

If you want to have it as realistic as possible you would probably have to have it. And you can't deny it makes the umpires more effective and the game fairer.
I reckon the umpires decision should stand. That's the way it was for many many years, and I think it's just better.

Refferals would add excitement to the game though as well as a point of difference.

should i get international cricket 2010 or wait for this bad boy? is it fully licensed (unlike inter. cricket 2010) ?

There won't be a fully licensed cricket game unless EA publish it.

The licenses are just too expensive. Would be surprised if this game had any tbh, even though we don't know who the publisher is as of yet (and could potentially be EA...though doubt that too).

Since IC2010 is the only game with any info beyond a paragraph out it's probably best to get that if you're desperate for some cricket. Otherwise you might be waiting until cricket season is over for anything on this.

IC2010 is okay. I managed to grab it for $23 off OGS - probably about the right price.

This game is very interesting, almost purely for the Move support.

Ross, just wondering if there's any updates.

Your website states Summer 2010 (which is no doubt wrong :p) so just wondering if there is an estimate release window. Also, seeing there's no information on this game at all I'm just wondering if it'll be out on Steam?

1) That's probably right unfortunately but even in their most recent cricket efforts they could only licence the names, not faces, of pretty much all the non Caucasian players.

2) Cricket Coach (www.cricketcoachgame.com) is hella buggy but is much more fun to play than ICC in my opinion and has more potential.

Yeah fair enough but it is still cricket. It's definitely a game for hardcore cricket geeks only.

The latest 2010 cricket game with Ponting on the cover is okay for batting but rubbish for bowling. There are only 3 legitimate places you can bowl (yorker, good length or bouncer) otherwise you get smashed. There is no bowling to a plan or anything like that. I found batting to be quite fun though because the idiotic/cheating AI batting is what largely ruins the game and when you're batting that's not a problem. The AI bowling isn't very interesting to face though. It tends to pick a spot, bowl 4 balls in that area, then pick another spot and bowl 4 balls in that area. It only has a couple of spots to bowl in as well. You rarely get stuff wide and short for cut shots. That sucks because in real life I love the cut shot :(

The more the merrier though.

2 licensed teams in ICC vs well I dunno how many in the last EA Cricket game but there were shitloads including the Aus Domestic, which just adds so much more to a game. Open up some extra modes and throw in some improved gameplay and the next EA Cricket game would easily be the best.

Don't think EA are coming back to it though, despite all the rumours (unless they're somehow BigAnt's publisher...highly unlikely:p). It seems to be a bit too much like the AFL game situation.

And yeah as DB said, Management games vs Playing is a very big difference for the gamer out there.
