Dr Dream "Hack" Team

funny thing is though, dr dreamteam will outscore overall around 98% of you people.

Whilst I am not saying he will win the whole thing, its preseason and anyone can say he, she, they are crap at dt, but when round 1 begins, then the boys will get seperated from the men.

Warnie and his boys should go better than dr dreamteam but i'm affraid that's when it stops.

Care to explain any of the above?

1) When you say 98% of "you people" do you mean the whole world? If so that is a strong chance. BF posters, no.
2) Your second para is dribble.
3) Why do you say Warnie and his boys should do better than the Doc? Based on what exactly? Gut feel?

What are you talking about? Dr. Dream Team struggles to crack the top 100'000. I saw when he was in the celebrities league.

Yeah, Warnie and his boys probably will be better than Dr. DT but it doesn't quite stop there.

Your 1st point - I am assuming when you say "you people" that you're talking about the BF population. I would say that unless he finishes in the top 200, then your statement would be incorrect.

Your second point - If you read the article and actually understood how stupid the whole article was, then you would understand how one can make a statement about their ability. How can you say you have a PHD in AFL (I am assuming it was DT as well) and NOT have the faintest clue about the pricing structure of DT and the affect of rounding?
If you are actually Dr Dream Team or the "work experience kid" then I suggest you get a new career or at least research your subject matter.

Your third point - Warnie and his boys while they run an amazing site are not the be all and end all on BF. There are many many highly skilled dream teamers that could write articles, create team designs and give out advice that has so much more relevance than Dr Dream Team has in the past.

The fact the article was REMOVED from the AFL website basically suggests that the article was a mistake.

absolutely nothing wrong with comparing Judd and SImpson in Dreamteam, only 1.4 pts was the difference each week, not far away. and who knows, Simpson might even improve more.

We wont know until round 1 starts.

Nothing wrong with that story he did at all

Hey Doc,

good with your column this year :thumbsu:

Leave him alone. Dr DT rocks and every single one of you should follow what he says religiously. It's really the only way to win.

This :thumbsu:

EDT better have a good read of his work than ;)

Bazunga!

Quigley fishing for the Doc's now vacant role.

I endorse the above candidate.

We want Quigs, we want quigs......

In all seriousness, the top 20,000 or so ranked teams each year would probably take Dream Team seriously. It is more than likely that these people probably visit boards such as this to help further develop their skills. The discussion on these types of boards can get quite hardcore and would fly right over the top of the heads of the vast majority of the DT population. So really, the market isn't for the top 20,000 coaches, it is the rest of the 300k+ people who play DT. The ones who aren't going to sit there and analyse articles, but instead take everything a "professional" such as Dr DT says as gospel. It gets people reading and the traffic numbers ticking over at afl.com.

Still doesn't excuse Dr DT for writing such rubbish though.

Yeh, exactly Narkee. I was in a conference at work the other day talking to a guy who had just set up his DT. Said he'd been reading Dr DT every day and really getting some good tips.Nodded and told him that was definitely the way to go. ;)

Sounds like I should get the car now. Seeya in 2012.

Locked Warnie. Please arrange insurance. Also, stop writing those articles on the AFL DT site, they're informative and accurate which is highly annoying.

Dr Dream team is pretty much like what John Cena is to WWE. All the real fans know he is just crap but no matter what things can't change. We aren't his target audience. For every one of us who questions him, there is a dozen kiddies buying into the rubbish he's peddling.

There is no way in hell that a professional website like the AFL would give write access to a work experience kid. If they did write an article it would have to be reviewed by their superior and then by an editor before being published by whoever the site admin is. So... therefore we can conclude that even if it was the work exp. kid that "wrote" the article, Dr DT would have had to have approved the article. Therefore either Dr DT works while drunk/on drugs or is a complete nutter/dimwit.

ok then lets use this thread to follow how Dr Dreamteam goes this season, and lets see where he finishes at seasons end.

And what's wrong with rounding off ? not like you are going to have a figure with 6 numbers after the . for example $13204.569125 PER DT POINT on a weekly average.

Sure have 1 or 2 but no more, so really rounding is fine, just on a minimal level

Okay Einstein, please explain why you think they removed the article if there was nothing wrong?

If you gain some insight into dream team from Dr Dream Team, then good on you. I wish you all the best.

IMO more Docs and less Warnies to the masses :thumbsu::thumbsdown:

Just looking over a few of the Docs articles from the last week or two, came across this pearl of wisdom:

Q: Should I be factoring in the byes when picking and trading with my team?
In the Doctor’s view, no, not yet. You are picking your Dream Team for a season of success, not a week or a month.

Followed up with this groundbreaker:

When trading, things can be different. For instance, don’t buy Matthew Boyd the week Western Bulldogs have the bye.

:D

Maybe the doc is smarter than us all and his strategy to win the car is by spreading as much misinformation as possible. Pretty sneaky... :D

Ok.

Jeffrey?

Sounds like the guy has surrounded himself with furry walls.
Pretty sure my nrl following Queenslander housemate would no more about Dream team than this hack.
Other people on this forum should send in articles to the afl to try and replace 'The Doc', they would certainly be more informative and helpful then the ones being posted.

Talking about DT "experts" anyone seen Mr Fantasy's team? Hes such a good DT coach that he managed to squeeze Luke Hodge in his backline.. :p

Surely someone so connected with the AFL should have known about the changes ages ago? And in the Hawks section he is clearly listed as a Mid.. which he supposedly wrote as well.

Not to mention the other "interesting" selections in his team.. forget Swanny, everyone has him, Im gonna be unique and save a whopping ~15k by putting Ablett in! Definitely lock!

My favourite line of Dr. Dream Team's was that Nick Duigan will 'definitely' (direct quote) ply his trade in the VFL this season. Yep, Carlton picked up a 27 year old with no intention of even considering him for the senior team.
