Cant believe we passed on McKernan for Post at 26.... argh!! I was listening after round 1 hopeing that one of trengove/mckernan would slip and he did...
Yeah I felt the same but Post can play either end, whereas McKernan is more a ruck/forward.

Oh FFS we only take 3 ND picks again! Not only that 1 of them was recycled. This club does not respect the national draft. What a joke.
Tell me about it beav. At least we didn't get Leigh Brown.

Was there anyone who was in the phantom drafts who wasn't selected?
From Burgatron:
Nahas
Klemke
Rockliff
Varcoe(?)
Gaertner
Sibosado

pretty dissapointed we only took 3 picks

and 1 of them recycled.

we should be loading up at draft time not taking 3 picks in 2 ND's while we're rebuilding, just doesnt seem right.

and if we are even considering cousins then we are a bigger joke than i thought

Plenty of options for the PSD, including Cousins.

Gaertner and Rockliff and De Boer would be favourites to go earlier, could be steals as well.

I can't believe that Rockliff was not taken.
He was tipped to be gone by the end of the second round.

He is a natural footballer but not real quick.
Maybe the fact that he is not overly fast scared teams off.

I really hope he is our target in the PSD but if he is why didn't we take him with pick 70:confused:

Keeping our options open?

It is a little strange that we wouldn't just go for one of these kids if we are just going to go for one in the PSD, really opens up the possibility for Cousins.

I thought my brain must be malfunctioning when I heard the name Tom Hislop. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets delisted at the end of next year...

Yeah I don't see many 18-19 yr olds on it.
6 at the moment, possibly 7 depending on the PSD pick is not that bad. Especially when there are 22 players on the list are under 23. Plus another 4-5 youngsters who could be taken in the rookie draft.

That would give us up to 27 players from a list of 46 under 23. Just how much younger would you like our list to be?

Jackson on SEN now.

Thinks that Vickery could play seniors as early as next year.
Thinks Post will be a very good player in the future.
Regarding Hislop, says 2 other clubs were after him. Think he is a very good prospect still. Says that he has met Wallace and has taken full responsibility for stuffing up at Essendon. Realises that this is his last chance.
On passing pick 70, says that there was plenty of depth left in the draft and that we want to get in a few of these kids and have a look at them at the club before the PSD. Said we're definitely NOT taking Cousins.

I accidently posted this in Tom Hislop thread.

FJ on SEN now.

Tyrone Vickery - Expects TV to play next season, put on size.
Jayden Post - Talented all, took 50 more marks than anyone in the TAC Cup.
Tom Hislop - 2 other clubs wanted him before, Rate him highly. Terry chatted to him before the draft. 2nd chance and needs o make the most of it.
Re #70 - Draft lacked depth at the end... Kids to come through and make a decisions in the coming weeks.

"No Ben Cousins."

Coeshell is on Tiges radar

Actually it is 5. I won't hold my breath about those rookie selections.

"Midfields win premierships" is the morons' mantra. Bullshit. Risk-takers win premierships. Every time Richmond has a chance to put its balls on the line they suck up into the body instead. Playing it safe is a sure way to fail. I'm sick of recycling other clubs' cast-offs. What has Adam Thomson done after four years in the system? Sweet FA. Hislop: ******** who can't kick.
Ah well, the first two picks were good. Shame we didn't take a few more. Look at Port: they had 8 picks and passed once I think. Look at the Weagles: two years after playing in a GF they've loaded up on young talent again. Look at Hawthorn: premiers and have their third pick before ours. Look at Richmond: trying to take short-cuts yet again. Surprised we didn't draft Leigh Brown - he was pick 5 in his draft after all ...

Sorry forgot about Gourdis being delisted.

As for the rookie selections, I suppose there is a chance you could be right, there is little hope for any of them becoming quality footballers. Considering that we got Thursfield, Foley, King & Moore from the rookie draft in recent years there is also a chance you could be wrong.

We also had our first 2 picks 8 picks each ahead of theirs, and our 3rd was 8 picks behind, I know I'd rather our first 2 picks being 8 in front of theirs than the other way around.
