No way, will Vickery be a ruckman. Early on he may play forward, but we need him in the ruck.

Never said he would be playing as a permanent KPF, more that he will be playing there. All the talk has been about how he can play both positions equally well. Surely you don't expect he will play the whole game on the ball?

I dont see any major mistakes but at this stage its all speculation. The draft is a lottery IMHO so only time will tell. U just hope the can get Hislpos head on straight. If they can we got a steal , if not, Alex Gilmour revisited.

have noticed there isnt a lot mentioned about the following players.

1. mitch brown
2. casey subisado
3. mathew deboer
4. tom rockliff

cant say im very happy , but i guess the people in our recruiting team have done their research & know best good luck to all the boys we have picked up & hope they really gel together and become stars of the future.

but with hindsight i would of liked.

Once again you celebrate mediocrity, Jethro Dull-ard...Hislop was a major blunder and a disgraceful decision, should've got someone like Sibasado. Post over Mckernan ... maybe not a complete disaster , but it just sounds dumb. Vickery, yeah i'm glad, fills a drastic need, but have a bit of an uneasy feeling about the fact that we didn't take Ziebell who was still available. Pass on pick 70? Didn't realise this club had such an embarrassment of riches that we can afford such luxuries.... hope you're at least right about Cousins. Of course I hope I'm wrong about all our picks and they all become guns. The first two could well be...if Hislop contributes anything useful to us, I'll start listening to Return To Forever & Weather Report...

What is your big problem with Hislop? Why do you think that he will never offer anything?

If Post comes along well this year surely McGuane will be shipped off to the G.C. Personally id hate for him too be but have a look at our possible backiline if Post and Rance come on:

add to that Shultz, Polak, Bowden
we are far to top heavy down back meaning that at least one would have to go possibly 2.

sorry guys in refrence to mich brown, was just going through quickly and missed it. just had a look at a thread on pre before and somebody has actually poste a list of cc,s for all our picks & mckernan wasnt in either of our 1st or 2nd choices he must not have rated mckernan at all it appears.

I am licking my lips at whats left over. In brackets is the burgatrons predicted draft range for each of the boys left over:

deboer (37-not selcted) - gun medium midfielder, but was rated higher last year when bottom age than this year???
sibsado (28-not selected) - freakish project player with a huge x-factor
rockliff (54-not selected) - solid medium forward
geartner (31-not selected) - giant athletic defender (199cm!!!)
klemke (50-not selected) - solid medium defender, richmond were said to be interested pre-draft
tom hill (21-not selected) - late developing ruckman
pearce (56) - solid medium defender

Thats all i could think of...if we get one of those guys in the PSD and one or two in the rookie draft we'd be doing well.

Everyone says sibosado is a KPD...do we really need another one now that we have thursfield, moore, mcguane, rance, post, schulz, polak? as well as bowden who can play kpd and sylvester on the rookie list??? Even if he is a freak that really is a bit of overkill.

If there is potential to turn him into a forward i'm all for drafting him.

Who says he's a KPD?? He's a forward. More importantly, he's a potential STAR.

Burgan and quite a few other sites talking about sibosado list him as a defender, other sources call him a KP prospect without mentioning whether that is up forward or down back, but I have rarely seen anything that says he is, at this stage, a forward.

i dunno about that. Post is not exclusively a defender, he can play both forward and back. i see him as more of a CHF type with his great aerobic capacity and marking ability who can lead up the ground and can deliver the ball into the F50...

i'm with you there on sibosado, i would have liked to see them pick him up with pick 70. But i guess there is still quite a number of kids available for the PSD so tha't good if he slips to us.
