NFL just had its draft where it was an action packed day with the amount of trading. Would this work in AFL?

I think it would create alot of interest but is there a downside? At the moment, teams roll off the names and thats it. Then we have to listen to Dunstall and co about 2 players they know something about. By having trading, entire draft would be more interesting, but would take alot longer.

Draft day trading would be great. Allowing more trading in general is a good idea IMO

why does the draft have to be entertaining

Because it's better than not being entertaining!!!

Seriously though it allows more flexibility. A team may find that all the players it was truly interested in have gone, some other teams may see more value in remaining picks. Trading on draft day is a way to help both teams.

Think it's time now with FA coming in that AFL allowed trading future picks.

I already find the draft entertaining, to make it more so could only be more financially beneficial for the AFL.

why does the draft have to be entertaining

I don't think it necessarily matters if it's entertaining or not. In my opinion however, it will improve the standard of the competition if teams can trade future picks and generally are allowed more flexbility with their lists.

Get rid of the stupid backwards top 10
I agree. Its exciting for people who know nothing about AFL but its condescending to people that do. demetriou really insults the peoples intelligence with this.
