Some thoughts on the 2016 kids;

Brodie - huge, but sore. Fell away in the last.
McCluggage - silk.
Ainsworth - flog, but a matchwinner.
McGrath - massive last quarter. Classy.
Gallucci - OK, but not great.
Venables - stood up when he needed to.
Taranto - excellent.
C.Brown - stats flattered him. Anonymous.
Scrimshaw - can see what the hypes about.
Berry - serviceable, but a bit disappointing.
Blythe - Little, but sure can play. Back pocket superstar.
Clarke - 3rd quarter kept VM in it. A bull.

The Talls - unimpressive. All of them.

Taranto, Blythe and Clarke kept Metro in the game IMO. Clarke's 3rd term was absolutely massive.

McGrath hadn't done much all day, but his last quarter was so damn good he got the votes from me on AFL Draft Central. He's small though, and I think he stays a running half back ultimately.

Similarly, my man Venables had done 2/5ths of **** all all day, but when someone had to step up he did. Just before he took that huge grab and kicked the winner, he put in 3 or 4 massive efforts in the one play that got the ball into Callum Brown's hands for a goal.

For VC, Brodie was tough, strong and excellent early, but ran out of juice and is clearly carrying some knocks, and McCluggage was just a class above but was negated when VM started winning the clearances; at his best ghosting past the pack rather than bursting from it, but just so silky and dangerous with ball in hand.

Barrels time to pick "your boy" once and for all; Brodie or Luggage?
Venables...

Then McCluggage, then Brodie. Then Dylan Clarke. Wouldn't complain with any of them.

If there's a smokey in this draft it might just be Willem Drew, midfielder for Vic Country and North Ballarat Rebels. Might just win the Morrish Medal from his form in the TAC Cup and played a great game again today kicking two goals including a clutch mark and goal in the final term.

He and Taranto are my next tier of love.

I haven't sen enough to rate Brodie in a complete way but his highlights look very average, he seems a lot like the forum favourite this year like Matho last year. What does he do well that I'm not seeing? Mc Nuggets looks good and Ainsworth looks a gun.

Interesting. Didn't you have a fair bit of wood over Brodie earlier this year? I'd love that GC prospect, Bowes.
I did, but others have gone past him for various reasons. His kicking is a bit rough.

Isn't his kicking meant to be the knock on Brodie? Think Quayle said as much the other day, which is not exactly what we want.

What does he do well, I'm guessing he's a dish it out in and under player? I'd almost offer unders for Crouch and get him into AA if we want a messy kicking ball magnet.

Pretty sure you're not gonna like his ponytail but Jarrod Korewha has a good size (192cm, 81kg) and is potentially a tall midfielder. Showed plenty today as well.

Saints fan too. :thumbsu:

Well he's being spoken of as potentially going no.1 in the draft, so I'm guessing he has a bunch of other things going for him.

I can just see it. we draft Ainsworth and people call him Aintsworth

Looks classy but another small forward? It doesn't look like he could transition into the midfield with much ease. Long time small fwd, no thanks. Nice player tho.

Brodie looked good for mine. Won heaps at the coal face. Exactly what we need. Worpel for next years draft looks an absolute brute. Bloke looks 30.

I know McCluggage was all class and brilliant but there has to be doubts on his inside game.
More in need of a Brodie type.
Don't want billings and McCluggage both not able to win inside.
Who knows they both may grow in to that role but I think we rather a advanced contested ball mid
