Hopefully we can get a round in today. It's starting to get very interesting.

I'm about to go in to UQ to do some research for the rest of the day, but I'll be online with my laptop all that time, so I will be able to respond pretty quickly.

It's been good so far. There haven't been too many long breaks at all. I can reply fairly quickly because I have been stuck on my computer doing my bloody lit review for most of the week.

I'm happy with the 4 or so picks each day. A lot quicker than some of the other ones.

I'm at work, busy as a one-legged man in an arse kicking contest.

But I'll still check regularly.

Just bill your biggest client for that time. No one will know. ;)

I will hopefully do my 2 selections in the next hour, I am at work and forgot to bring my team list in to refer to while I make my selections.

I see players are being picked on the basis of them being injury free. As a potential voter I would also ask whether players are to be judged on their careers, or their current form?

Unfortunately, the voting public have a very short memory which is the only reason I lost to Grimreepah when I picked Kouta in the previous game. The voting public are like goldfish - they only remember the last year or so, and not Kouta in full flight.

Excuse tally:

Warwick - 1
lionbear - 0
BrownDog - 0
POBT - 1

Each player at their best I would imagine (hope).

Well typical soft-handed approach shown again towards the board's "favourite" poster BrownDog. It appears Grimreepah is too scared to make the right call, and take a stand against blantant cheating. I put this right up there with Mal Michael's decision at the end of last year. BrownDog - BrownDog act I say!

It doesn't surprise me however. If one person has shown to be above and beyond the rules of genuine sportsmanship and good-faith, it is Grimreepah. I must say I expected better from a respected poster like BrownDog, but he has certainly shown his true colours when the heat has been applied.

I have a good mind to pull out of the game right here, right now. But I don't want to let POBT and lionbear down as both have shown to be extremely good sports and law-abiding participants. However, I will make my final decision whether to continue to participate 2 days before the polls close. My decision will not be based on the current trend of voting, more on ethics and the feeling to do the right thing and make a stand.

Rules are in place to make society function. They are not there to be exploited and "bent". It's unsociable behaviour and quite frankly, un-Australian.

Let me conclude by saying, I hope the coach with the best team still wins this. But I hope it is a team that was built with integrity and honesty. If Voss-gate does happen to change the result of the game, expect one of these (*) to be placed on the trophy.

The Brisbane Board Draft League concessions must be ceased immediately. We demand an even playing field!!

I can't help but feel the voters have the right to know that Warwick thinks they have the intelligence of a goldfish.

You did win one of these did you not?

That says it all.

Dealing with philistines and morons.

Yeah... contestants who hurl insults at their voters are clearly on a higher plane of intelligence.:)

I'm not abusing them personally, just their choices.

I think it was pretty obvious who should have won that last game. And let's not get started on the cricket draft...

Hey - don't bring me into this! Just cos I worked out early on that a quality fast bowling attack would be crucial. Did you end up picking Alan Mullally in the end?

On the topic at hand, I have to say that I don't think that the spirit of the game is that we pick players based on their career best. Otherwise, it would seem strange that Hird, Voss, Buckley, Koutafides, Archer etc weren't selected in the first round and equally strange that players like Ablett Jnr and Bartel were selected early on. I think that you have to assume that players are completely injury free but they should be judged on the most current and regular performances - eg Bradshaw would be judged on his 2006 form. If we've allowed Voss to be selected, he needs to be judged on 2006 Vossy, not 1996 or 2001.

Fair enough, but that would be 2006 Vossy without any knee injury issues whatsoever, correct?

I think that is fair. His exposed form in 2006 is relevant though. You can't put too many rules in place - it would be up to the judges to determine how they'd rate Vossy.
