We're at the business end of the season with the much-anticipated finals match ups upon us.

There are four matches previewed below, with 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6 and 4 v 5 all played as knockout fixtures. Please vote for the four teams you think would win. Posters who didn't participate in the draft game are more than welcome to vote and to add their comments below.

Voting is now open but each coach is welcome to send through a brief spiel (max 120 words... one per minute in a game of footy) explaining why they think their team would win their match. Please PM these through and I'll include them.

The poll will be open for a week.

Match 1 - 1st vs 8th

Moderate Mania (Allefgib) vs The Fiery Headwobblers (alex_is_on_fire/Bacon8)

F Jason Porplyzia - Rhys Stanley - Andrew Krakouer
B Thomas Bugg - Ben Rutten - Brandon Ellis

HF Jack Steven - Josh Kennedy (WCE) - Andrew Walker
HB Brodie Smith - Phil Davis - Clancee Pearce

C Liam Anthony - Josh Kennedy (Syd) - Harley Bennell
C Andrew Embley - Daniel Hanneberry - Ryan Bastinac

HB Heath Scotland - Luke McPharlin - Chad Cornes
HF Bernie Vince - Sam Reid - Alex Fasolo

B Reece Conca - Brian Lake - Greg Broughton
F Daniel Gorringe - Jack Darling - Alan Didak

1R Ben McEvoy - Tom Scully - Andrew Carazzo
1R Aaron Sandilands - Toby Greene - Dayne Beams

INT Mike Pyke - Sam Butler - Jordan Russell - (Sam Gibson)
INT Mitch Wallis - Gary Rohan - Andrew Raines - (Jordan Roughead)

From Allefgib - Why the Moderate Mania team would win:

It all starts in the middle where Josh Kennedy will outbody anyone else on the field in that midfield - he lead the comp in contested possessions and I don't see him losing to many here. Bennell will run the legs off anyone in the Headwobblers lineup and provide some real line breaking ability and spark going forward. Up forward there are some reasonable match-ups but the skill of Porps and Krakouer will see my forwardline come out on top of that defence who won't be able to shut down all the scoring options up there.

Downback the experience of Lake and McPharlin will chew up and spit out Reid and Darling. Reid especially will be burnt the otherway. Darling may give Lake the run around but body on body just won't be able to win a contest. The Chad will probably cut of Darling's leads and/or move to Gorringe and also hurt him out the otherway. Vince will be too loose on Scotland who is likely to wrack up 30+ touches against him. Broughton is the perfect type of player to sit on Dids and cut him out of the game - and find some footy himself.

McEvoy will battle manfully against Sandilands but is unlikely to come out on top. Carrots therefore will be very busy blanketing Beams but fortunately is just the man for the job. This match will also see alot of two men up Rucking at times when I throw Pyke into the mix to really wear on Sandipants.

Quick squizzle at stats for 2012 has my boys ahead in most categories. Centre Clearances in particular we dominate (very slight advantage to the head wobblers at stoppages, doesn't come close to swinging overall clearances his way though). But stats are for the players in different team makeups so probably can't read too much into it.

From Bacon8 - Why the Fiery Headwobblers team would win:

Match 2 - 2nd vs 7th

The Pin Pals (Lawrst) vs Albuquerque Isotopes (Footypie32)

F Paul Puopolo - Jay Schulz - Steven Milne
B Ben Howlett - Lewis Roberts-Thompson - Billy Smedts

HF Hayden Ballantyne - Jonathon Patton - Shaun Hampson
HB - David Mackay - Michael Johnson - Alan Toovey

C Simon Black - Andrew Swallow - Steven Coniglio
C Brendan Goddard - Lenny Hayes - Rory Sloane

HB Ben Johnson - Will Schofield - Chris Yarran
HF Daniel Menzel - Lance Franklin - Matthew Wright

B James Gwilt - Nathan Brown - Martin Mattner
F Steven Motlop - Tyrone Vickery - Josh Hill

1R Matthew Leuenberger - Scott Pendlebury - Daniel Kerr
1R Jonathon Griffin - Steele Sidebottom - Travis Boak

INT Koby Stevens - Adam Schneider - David Rodan - (Taylor Hunt)
INT Curtly Hampton - Shaun McKernan - Jack Viney - (Todd Banfield)

From Lawrst - Why the Pin Pals team would win:

From Footypie32 - Why the Albuquerque Isotopes team would win:

Match 3 - 3rd vs 6th

Greendale Human Beings (Stripple) vs Faith FC (FAITH)

F Tyson Goldsack - Travis Cloke - Eddie Betts
B Alex Johnson - Alex Rance - Jarryn Geary

HF Ahmed Saad - James Podsiadly - Angus Monfries
HB Nick Maxwell - Jackson Trengove (Port) - Scott McMahon

C Bryce Gibbs - Brent Moloney - Brent Stanton
C Jordan Lewis - Jarryd McVeigh - Kade Simpson

HB Rhyce Shaw - Tom Lonergan - Harry O'Brien
HF Jared Petrenko - Tom Hawkins - Robin Nahas

B Sam Gilbert - Matthew Warnock - Christian Howard
F Jarryd Blair - Jack Riewoldt - Mathew Stokes

1R Mark Jamar - Marc Murphy - Jack Ziebell
1R Shane Mumford - Matthew Priddis - Luke Ball

INT Dion Prestia - Adam Selwood - Stefan Martin - (Ollie Wines)
INT Paul Stewart - Terry Milera - Marty Clarke - (Alwyn Davey)

From Stripple - Why the Greendale Human Beings team would win: Two main reasons I win is the back lines and fwd lines. Faith lacks versatility up forward. My extra height back there would allow aerial dominance by having a third man up who can sweep across and cut off any assault. This then would allow for a lot of rebound scores due to my drive through the back line and my link men in the middle. As for my forward line it would absolutely destroy Faiths Rance, Johnson, and Trengrove would struggle against Cloke, Pods, and Goldsack and with two excellent small forwards waiting for the crumbs even if they only half the contest my small forwards would put on immense scoreboard, and tackling pressure.

The other issue is the ruck. Yes Mumford beats Jamar. But Mumford would play 100% game time and as such would tire as the game went on. And if Trengrove or Hawkins goes in to give him a rest this substantially weakens those lines for Faith.

From FAITH - Why the FAITH FC team would win: Midf where game is won and lost usually: Id back Mummy over almost any ruck in the comp including Jamar. I think Priddis/Ball/McVeigh/Lewis will just be too big strong and consistent for Maloney/Gibbs/Murphy and Ziebell. I believe i have the upper hand in getting contested ball and getting the ball quickly to my forwards.

Forward Structure: Stripple has a strong HB line with plenty of dash. But how will Lonergan keep Hawkins quiet and Nahas/Petrenko would run rings around Shaw and Obrien. Warnock on Riewoldt is no contest, Stokes and Blair again would run a muck around Gilbert and Howard.

Defensive Structure: I think my HBs would have a good chance of overcoming Stripples HFs. Trengove is a quality player while the Pod is likely to play in defense this yr and didnt show much as a forward last season. Saad is a kid Maxwell will be all over him and we all know what Monfries is like as a player. The biggest issue for my team is Stripples Forward line. Cloke is a gun, Rance is on the brink of becoming elite. Betts is special but Geary had a great yr last season and Johnson showed how good he was in the gf shouldnt have much of an issue with goldsack.
But with limited inside 50s i cant see Cloke or Betts kicking big scores, Like my forward structure can.

Interchange: Pretty even got a swingman and xfactor, dont think it will affect the overall ratings of the teams. Thats my analysis look forward to hearing from all of you. Im tipping my team by 26points.

Match 4 - 4th vs 5th

Freddy Bassett (umm... Freddy Bassett) vs Kate Upton's Fantasy (Deaneus)

F Leroy Jetta - Jonathon Brown - Brent Harvey
B Matt Maguire - Daniel Merrett - Graham Johncock

HF David Swallow - Jarrad Waite - Shane Savage
HB Chad Wingard - Ryan Schoenmakers - Nick Malceski

C Isaac Smith - Joel Selwood - Sharrod Wellingham
C Brad Ebert - Matthew Boyd - Liam Shiels

HB Shaun Burgoyne - Nathan Bock - Corey Enright
HF Daniel Rich - Matthew Pavlich - Chris Knights

B Clint Jones - Zac Dawson - Josh Gibson
F Jonathon Giles - Mitch Clark - Ian Callinan

1R Dean Cox - Joel Corey - Ryan Crowley
1R Robert Warnock - David Mundy - Paul Chapman

INT Robbie Gray - Ashley McGrath - Rhys Palmer - (Dennis Armfield)
INT Ben Cunnington - Taylor Adams - Rohan Bewick - (Tory Dickson)

From Freddy Bassett - Why the... umm... his team would win:

From deaneus - Why the Kate Upton's Fantasy team would win:
Okay, line by line. Browny keeps getting hit by cars and is old, whereas Merrett is in the prime of his life. Same Brent Harvey, he's 1000 years old, Graham "this year i'm in the midfield" Johncock will need to keep a tight lease, but not sure Harvs can bring his zimmer frame on the field. I don't know which Jetta that is, so I call a tie. Clear win to KUF. Waite is a great white hope, careful though he may get injured by you reading this, whereas this year Schoenmakers will start to live up to the hype. Swallow is alright, and probably ties or beats Wingard but Malceski's beard thrashes Savage. Ebert may be captain this year for Port, and beats Smith, Selwood wins for ducking but ties Boyd for application (c'mon, if Boyd played for a real team he'd be a superstar) and I think Shiels beats Wellingham, the go-home dandy. Pavlich would run rings around the meth-dealer's son, Enright would beat Knights (since Knights may not be able to run anymore) but I reckon this year Rich will get noticed as the sexy powerhouse he is and outdo Burgoyne. In the backlines, Clark butthurts Dawson, Giles is simply too tall for Jones (or Gibson) and Callinan would run rings around them both. In theruck, it's hard to go past Cox but I will, with Warnock and Giles rucking in tandem and resting in the forward pocket, not sure who Cox's backup is. I call Corey slightly better than Mundy and that's being generous, but Crowley? Really? the most notable thing about him is he shares a name with Alistair. Chapman wants to eat him, with dipping sauce. Terrible. Finally on the interchange, McGrath is lazy and Palmer is rubbish but Grey is an excellent player when he isn't injured; my only great player is Cunnington, while I do expect Adams and Bewick to have good years. all in all, it was a close one... but I scraped it in, since my backline could almost keep Freddy's in check, whereas there's too much class in my forward line for Freddy's defenders to deal with. Freddy's got me in the midfield - but not by much - but I'll have Wingard and Malceski rebounding all day to Pavlich at CHF directing traffic with Rich. Also I would make some seriously excellent coaching moves. Like Johncock to the forward line. Win to KUF.

Just to clarify for all voters...

Thou shalt vote for four teams, no more, no less.

Four shalt be the number thou shalt vote, and the number of thy voting shall be four.

Five shalt thou not count, neither shalt count three, excepting that thou then proceed to four.

Six is right out.

Once the number four, being the fourth number, be reached, then click "cast your votes" and you're done.

Not a lot of discussion going on. Also where are all the guys who voted me into third? Need some more votes:)

Not much discussion going on like last year - perhaps if everyone got their team 'why we would win' finalised?

I'll throw some comments out in a day or so when that's done, seems unfair to vote without people making their pitch (though my opponent seems to be doing fine without having done so!)

Does faith have any enemies? Might need to PM :)
I'd prefer to win off my teams strength though.
Dont think i do.

Votes are still even, McIntyre system for finals is unfair to the top teams as upsets are possible.
Finals in this comp is a different game though as u look at match ups.

Will do a write up later on about who I voted for and why. Haven't waited for all the write ups as we may be waiting another few weeks.

so who has voted unevenly?

Write ups.

Voted for Allfegib.

Loses the ruck but his inside mids (mainly kennedy) would be hard to beat. The major reason I voted against Bacon/AIOF is the forward line. They would be pretty well smothered by Allfegib's backs all day and would find it hard to score through the tall timber.

Voted for Lawrst.

Reasonably close in the midfield until you look at the ruck. would win the contest from here and has enough coverage in the back line to stop footypie. Also footypies back line a bit of a weakness that would allow lawrst to score.

Voted for me naturally.

Voted for freddy.

Really tight game even on most accounts. Essentially it came down to Cox over warnock and Selwood over Boyd.
