This guy has a big motor

Good draft pick if he drifts to 51 as any player taken then will be speculative

``He's already run a sub-48 second time, which qualifies him for the World Junior Athletics titles and the only kid that is quicker than him in Australia is actually in the Australian men's 400m relay team.

``He's still got a lot of football knowledge to learn and he's probably still got to hone his skills a little bit, but he's the sort of player that you hope an AFL club would draft to play on a Nick Riewoldt or a Matthew Lloyd.

Weavers view below posted at July this year - Not sure if you have changed your view since then Weaver.

"Chris Kangars - have watched him for most of the season and he is handy but I just prefer others. I think Rance and Pears were superb. I'd prefer to 'convert' a guy like McKenna into a defender than draft a specialist FB who is only so-so at going the other way."

Most have him going in the 30's...

Kicks worse than Gaspar on ice skates. They play him at fullback because he is a bit footy-dumb. Generally runs and runs until he is down a dead-end and handballs to a teamate under pressure.

He can run - end of story. Great athlete, good size and will get drafted. But will be a long study before he gets to the elite level.

That doesnt suprise me at all actually.

I like how the person who made this thread has "good athlete" "Came X in this time trial".

What a joke.

Get a footballer. Not an athlete. ****ing over athletics.

Ease up there Tiger.

I said speculative selection at 51. When a guy is so young yet is the 2nd fastest over 400 meters in Australia, fastest over 30 meters and top 10 in beep test and 3km time trial, one does take notice. If he slips through maybe look at him as a project on our rookie list.

I havent seen him play or what his kicking is like, that is why I asked Weaver whether he has improved in the latter part of 2007.
Yes we would prefer a player that can hit a target but you must admit this guy would be the "best ever athlete" kicking a ball around. Him spoiling his opponent yet having the stamina and pace to constantly run off his opponent is a plus. There are not many backmen that have the stamina of a midfielder and the pace of a Davey.
Worth a mention.

Cale Morton is a bit of an iffy pick, so we should go safe with the rest of them. Dean Putt for pick 51!

I don't think you can say Cale is iiffy. He will (or should) be an excellent footballer. The debate is over whether Cotchin is better. At the end of the day Cotchin or Morton, we will end up with a very good young player.

man i hope it turns out like the fantasy draft in the trades room - and we get dawson simpson! that would be awesome for a pick 51!:thumbsu:
