Chris Pelchen was definitely a fan of our selections last night

Yes, I can't understand the negativity. DeGoey and Maynard have pace, can get their own ball inside and seem to have excellent disposal. Aslo, from their highlights reels, both seem to be very good and clean overhead as well. Have to say I'm pretty optimistic. Moore will obviously take time but has tremendous athleticism for a tall.Very happy with De Goey, Moore and Maynard, really good picks.
Don't know much about Goodyear so can't really comment, but hope he gets the best out of himself at the Pies.
I'm hoping they're going to try to snag Sam Weideman next year and figured McKenzie would be surplus to their needs![]()

One of the other posters said Pies have been talking to Goodyear consistently all year so doubt he's a speculative pick.Weve had our eye on him .Remember Oxley saying Pies had spoken to him all year when he was rookied.Watching Goodyears highlights again his kicking issues don't seem to be an issue when he has time, so hopefully the 47% is largely due to his role of inside mid which is under high pressure in most cases.
I don't think his ceiling is as high as others
I was thinking, " Big Cox straight up the Sidebottom, and here comes da Goey "Can't wait for the commentating from Cometti: "Goldsack to Cox out comes De Goey"
I'm not so sure Hine believes his ceiling isn't that high. He did make a point of noting that De Goey hadn't had a big amount of top level exposure compared to a lot of other prospects.I don't think his perceived ceiling as high. But they're at such a young age they can still add extra facets to their game. Based purely on what others have said (I'm talking the draft 'experts' and Hine), De Goey has all the attributes to be a top 10 midfielder. Do I expect him to be that good? Of course not, you'd be kidding yourself if you expected any draftee to be that good, but you'd be plain greedy to ask for much more of a ceiling than that.
Pelchen praised every club in that article

Was interesting to hear in Hine's draft wrap up that he had a hard on for De Goey since seeing him as a first year player at the start of last year and wanted to hide him in a cupboard so we could get him. Big wraps on the kid.
This is spot on. Whenever I wonder if our guys have got it right I think back to Pendles being drafted and remember thinking "What the F" at the time only to be followed a few months later by "What the F did you think you knew GC" as I bagged myself for ever thinking I had any real idea at all.I remember most people being bewildered when we took Pendles at pick 5. I think lots of people will again have egg on their faces in due course. Our guys are very good at what they do. I'll back em in all day every day.
Yes they did well to pick up 2 players touted as possible pick 5 selections by us.Jealous of essendons picks
I stopped following myself after that. This is spot on. But on the Internet (International) feed, there is no red button, so we only had the 1st round live, then had to put up with the BS & commentators stroking their own collective egos. You should of pressed the Red Button as you just would of seen the Picks
="soreplums, post: 36257454, member: 92668" Throw in Adams, Levi, pendles and Danger, and that is some sure ball winning ability.
Was waiting to see how long it would take someone to noticeLock it in , eh?

The day was supposed to be about the draftees not hack commentators who drive me crazy.
So I switched off the live feed & just followed the draft tracker on the AFL site.
