I would be happy with that - Duursma, CDT, Farrow. 3 good selections. We can't miss with our first 3 picks, so no melting from me.

Duursma, Sharp, Dovaston/ NHH.

I could maybe stomach Duursma and Duff-Tyler double if we didn't take a half back flanker/ WA's fifth best midfielder at 13.

I'm really not looking forward to the inevitable whipping boy treatment coming CDT's way if we pick him given all the insane and inaccurate comparisons made with other players.

Devon Robertson about to be signed as a delisted free agent

Phillips and Mitchell in that frame as well

It's not the stud like Sharp is looking to be, but it is addressing our needs so might be why CDT/Farrow would be in consideration there.
Ahhh yes, three delisted players will resolve our inside mid issues. Only up from here.

Agree.
To the amateur observer CDT just looks a very athletic tall, no outstanding football traits.
Duursma and Sharp are the best 2 football talents in the draft, Dovaston while not a list need on his position with all the NGA prospects coming he is probably the best football talent at that position outside the top 10.

I don't know if we will flex our draft hand to get Duursma/Sharp/Cumming with our draft hand, but we should and Dovaston should be the other best player available.
I suspect there is lots of water to go under the bridge but us leaking the Dean bid threat is just the beginning.
I back our new list management team to get the desired outcome, they have shown they are not afraid of going after desired players through the trade period through out the year, I think we will be ok.

And wait for the trade request home at the end of next year.!!

A brilliant round 1 game demonstrated CDT's elite talent, and he's essentially remained the standout tall in the draft pool since that point. His movement for a 200cm kid is absolutely elite, the eye test backed up by top 10 finishes in the 2km time trial and 20m sprint at the combine, and his coordinated skills and level of competitiveness complete an undeniably attractive package. CDT is likely to be a slower burn for whichever team picks him on draft night, but he has all the tools to pay off that patience in spades in the coming years.

I reckon the biggest knock on CDT is his preference to mark on his chest.

He needs to learn by watching Jobe Shanahan take his marks out in front or fully extended. If he can get that right he's going to make a handy player.

That's my wish list

It’s wild to think that we could exit night one of the draft with the two highest ranked players in the open pool and the best player from WA and some supporters will feel flat

I understand the why but it remains a conundrum

Yes I too cant wait for

CDT struggling in twos (cant see him projecting/do better then first year Archer who has good hands. He 100% will not do better then first yearJobe)

Duursma struggling on the AFL wing since its a hard position

Farrow having no set position as we are stacked in HBF already.

I like the Duursma and Farrow (hbf with elite kick) pick but I call it like I see it. The odd one out is CDT

Our best recruit this offseason and performer for next is Dev by the legnth of flemmington

My guess at this stage and from hearing a few things is that we will take Dursmma at 1 (huge surprise) and then bid on Dean so that Blues need to burn picks 9 and 11 which will bring our pick 13 into pick 11.
I think we then use pick 3 on Robey or CDT but leaning towards Robey.
I'm not sure if we are as into Sharp as most on the board are. The list of delisted agents that have a similar style to him- inside accumulator/distributer but not athletically gifted or versatile, says that most teams and playing styles are moving away from that type of player. I could see him potentially sliding back to 11 and then WCE absolutely tolling the shit out of this board and taking Dovaston if he is still there or Farrow and overlooking Sharp.
I saw one mock draft that had CDT sliding to pick 13. Highly unlikely but boy would it be fun to take Duursma and Robey early and then still end up with CDT, or to pass on Sharp at our third pick just to witness the melty tears of all the Sharp worshippers on here 😭

Can't wait to not take CDT and watch his sycophants melt

Twomey has Sharp at 9
ESPN at 11
Sportingnews at 7
Zerohanger at 10

Those are the first four Google results. Even the BigFooty phantom draft threads with various posters has Sharp nowhere near 2.

What are these guys missing that apparently the fans here at BigFooty are picking up? Why is Dyson Sharp consensus number 2 amongst many of you? Serious question.

Because we need genuine inside mids and I guess most figured having pick 1 and 2 meant we could finally get a highly rated one.

I understand that, don't get me wrong, but are we saying these draft watchers are getting it wrong for our team too? Everyone is rating CDT above Sharp, for example. At pick 2, should we be drafting for need instead of clear best available? Well, clearly better than Sharp, anyway.

ESPN has Sharp at 5 in the power rankings - 3 in the open pool - Assuming you got 11 from the phantom draft that’s based on the needs of the other teams high in the draft.

Zero Hanger who clearly have a Vic Bias agenda still have him at 5 in the open pool - Same story with Twomey.

Sporting News have him at 4 in the open pool.

Nowhere near being the reach you’re trying to make it out to be.

Sharp is the need. I hate the talk of drafting BPA at the top end. We’ve got that. It’s Duursma. At pick 1. We can afford to make a needs based pick who ALSO happens to be very highly rated. **** it. Take Cumming for all I care. Just take a ****ing midfielder, a real one, please.

Of course Sharp would go higher in the open pool, but it's not an open pool. I was referring to the phantom drafts that popped up on Google.

Twomey still has Sharp at 9.

Not sure why you threw the dislike my way for an honest discussion, but whatever.

Power rankings are far more relevant to us than phantom drafts that take into account the needs of other teams after our picks.

We should be bidding on one or two academy players after pick 1 then taking Sharp.

I disliked your post because I disagreed with it, it’s not personal.

Well what if we take Duursma at 1, then bid on Uwland then Patterson then Annable then Dean then take Sharp at 6? Not far away from where he is rated in the pool at all.
