If we keep 2 I'm all for taking CDT
A good ruck in the mould of TDK is as good as an extra midfielder.
Now, there's no guarantee that CDT will be in the mould of Tim English or TDK as far as ruck work, but if he's new to the game and has a massive scope to develop, you would think his ruck work will develop.
If you then add his athletic attributes and agility, you would have a handy addition to the midfield and forward line.
In 2-3 years, he would already be contributing significantly if he's expected to play next year.

BBBW free agent next year

Matt Flynn still struggles to bench more than 60kg

A Reid still greener then Shrek

Two very highly rated ruck prospects in the 2026 draft class, actual real deal ruck prospects.

Forget CDT, continue to develop Areid ,let bbbw go, delist/trade flynn grab one of Axel or BVR and go hard for one of Reeves or Moyle.

I thought one of comparisons was TDK. TDK aint exactly known for his rucking but gets around. probably more like Tim English getting ball around ground.

that is still a seriously good player.
TDK and Tim English are not top 10 ruck in the comp though. So what are you doing with pick 2?

Please name 10 rucks better than those two
In terms of rucking ability (which appears to be the main concern with CDT) that seems a fair statement. Neither English or TDK excel with ruckwork.

They're decent examples of that skill only being one facet of a ruckmans overall capability though and shouldn't singularly define them.

I dont think TDK is top 10.

I think top 10 is

1. Max Gawn
2. Brodie Grundy
3. Tristan Xerri
4. Jarrod Witts
5. Luke Jackson
6. Lloyd Meek
7. Tim English
8. Toby Nankervis
9. Darcy Cameron
10. Kieron Briggs

Think TDK is like 12th with ROB ahead.

This has got to be rage bait

I agree with that, but OP said that they’re not top 10 rucks in the comp. Not that they weren’t top 10 hit out getters

Which ruck is TDK better than?

Id take TDK over quite a few of those due to his age in a trade scenario but thats not the same as is he a top 10 ruck in the game as a question...

All 10 will have better seasons. Its just a fair few of those are on the last legs somewhat

At least. And I’d argue that before he clearly stopped giving a **** halfway through the season, he was top 3 best in the comp.

Been thinking about Essendon trading up with you guys for Pick 2. What if it went something like this?:

WCE
Out: 2, 13, 41, FF2, FF3
In: 5, 9, 11

Essendon
Out: 5, 21
In: 2

Carlton
Out: 9, 11
In: 13, 21, 41, FF2, FF3

Outcome for each team:

Eagles: go into draft with 1, 5, 9, 11, and 34 - enough for four good first round picks, plus a pick to match an NGA or F/S. Main cost is future picks in 2027 - but it’s the Tassie draft so they hold less value (and you’d hope to be a bit better by then - not contending yet, but above this year, which is probably your low point). You still have your FF1 to get a good player.

Essendon: go into draft with CDT for minimal cost. Still get another top 10 pick, and have 27 and 30 to match NGAs (which should be more than enough).

Carlton: consolidate points for Dean and Ison, creating zero risk of not matching them. Gain some extra draft currency for the future.

I feel like this is a genuinely good deal for everyone. Ready to be shot down!
With the amount of futures already in Carltons bag, I doubt they would go for it.

Why is Carlton not taking Dean ? and imagine the melts if Sharp is on the board at 5 or 6 and WC don't take him

Half way he was top 5 for sure but then fell off a cliff. Can’t really ignore the fall as easily as you are myself
Pretending like it’s not because he had one foot out the door is a bit crazy to me. Not from a stats perspective, but actually watching it you can see in the body language, attitude, effort, etc. He was mentally and physically checked out of Carlton with his eyes on the Saints $$$. We’ll see his best work this season I reckon

they are that's why they lose the pick, i decided not to add bids to the mock. Yeh i know WCE fans love him, but i see his potential as a slightly better worpel. Also think cumming and dovaston fill are needs betters

You’re gonna sit there and post with your whole chest that because of player rating you thing Marshall, Madden, Meek, Nank, Pitto, and Draper are all better than TDK? Come off it.
I think TDK is not capable of being a full time no. 1 ruck. He’s undersized and couldn’t keep it up over the season and that’s why the played Pittonet.

The hope for st kilda is that he just didn’t give a **** after he decided to leave. I have concerns though about him as a number 1 ruck.

Also I said top 10 without actually counting. If you want to put him at 7 or 8 you go for it. Still means 40% of the teams have better rucks

It’s pretty clear when you watch the drop off and pay attention to his game and watch him specifically, that the only reason he dropped off is because he was already packing his bags. Will be the best ruck in the game along with Jackson as we move further and further away from the big lumbering ****ers being the dominant style
