List Mgmt. Draft Watch 2015

Will be interesting to see where he goes. Obviously all the clubs would have his medical records and would have had him checked over. If he is given the all clear by the medical staff just watch him go in the top 15. Wont be there at 28.
He was a gun last year. Was rated higher than Francis was in 2014.

not 28 but we might end up improving it

we don't NEED a third tall forward, we have Lynch, and McGovern, and even Ramsay.

Long term planning. It looks like we're going to have a fairly balanced team with the new trades coming in so potential stars in any area we can get our hands on this draft would work out. This draft is probably our best chance to get a monster KPF so if we can get Francis, Weide or McKay(?) we should grab it.

Swap weideman for H McKay ...200cm and youngest kid in draft almost
Yeah I think you're right. McKay is going to be better at the same age and already has a good fitness base. He isn't really a pack crasher though and that's something we could use.

Now I'm not sure if we should take Milera or Ah Chee.

Although I don't like drafting talls with a pick around 10 I think we"ll pick McKay and probably then the best available . And probably a speculative pick at 28. Maybe something like this:

Harrison McKay (VIC – KPF/RUCK)
Height: 200cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 24/12/1997
Recruited from: Gippsland Power
Range: 5-30
Profile: Developing athletic tall forward.

Rhys Mathieson (VIC – MID)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 79kg, DOB: 10/01/1997
Recruited from: Geelong Falcons
Range: 3-15
Profile: High production inside midfielder.

Aidyn Johnson (VIC – MID)
Height: 184cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 31/10/1997
Recruited from: Bendigo Pioneers
Range: 20-undrafted
Profile: Athletic midfielder who can break the lines but has missed almost all of this season with injury.

Don't think too many consider Francis a KPF, just an all round immense football talent capable of playing defence or forward and even as a big bodied mid.

Why on earth does Mathieson keep coming up? Good footballer; yes. Slow; yes. Inside mid; yes. Ordinary kick; yes.

Do we want to populate our team solely with slow inside mids with suspect kicking?

13 + 28 for 5;

I can't see how this would happen, Essendon would prefer 5, so would say give us 5 and we'll give you back 23.

The only way I see us getting 5 is if Sydney gives us 14 for 28&32 and we then give 13&14 for 5&24

I think Francis and Parish will be gone before our first pick. I think they will be gone in the top 5.
I would be happy to see us get Milera and Burton with picks 9 and 13. We have a use for both. We need a third tall forward (Burton) and we certainly need the outside run of Milera.
There is also a chance we could get Luke Partington at pick 28. Luke is going to be real good. Comes from Eyre Pen and his father died this year which put him out for a bit.
So he has slipped a bit in the draft rankings and maybe doesnt want to leave SA due to his mother being left without his father.
If we walked away with Milera, Burton and Partington we have done well.
I also think the club may look at SA players this draft as there are some that meet our needs and after Danger leaving alot of Crows fans are pretty vocal at getting SA kids.
Is Milera related to the other mileras? The guys that both quit their respective clubs. Seems abut risky

Luke Partington may be there at our pick 28.

I'm really coming around to the idea we may take Ryan Burton with our 2nd pick if Francis isn't available with our 1st.......of course if their confident Burton's broken leg isn't to be a problem going forward??

Of course this probably may not apply if we uptrade to pick 5.

Exactly what I was thinking. Now Francis is supposely injured he will slide so he could be there. Burton is the sort you roll the dice on. Also if Francis is not there take McKay and Burton and we have the real replacements for any forward woes.

Absolutely no chance with the high picks we will be retaining, not a snowflakes chance in hell!

Doubt we'd even consider a rookie spot with our inside mid stocks already bolstered with Gore.

Whilst i agree that Beech is now off the radar unfortunately.
You havent seen any of Jono play if you think he is an inside mid.
More Tom Lynch than Scott Thompson

Definitely our best chance with the picks we hold for once

Like one key (forward or back McKay or Collins) nd one outside mid ( not another back flanker)

The other possibility is that we take Milera and Burton with 9 + 13 and grab Sam Skinner with a later pick. Probably have to be 28 to be sure although there's a slim chance he'd be there at 50. Big KP, plays both forward and back, already almost 100kg, looks like being a beast of a player. Missed a lot of the season with an ACL, so dropped a long way down the order. I'm pretty sure McKay took his spot in the Vic Country side when he went down.

I'm warming to Milera. You can never have enough leg speed.
I'm not 100% convinced with him yet. Highlight packages on YouTube are a bit mixed. Solid sanfl games late in the year, granted.

What sort of player do you think he'll eventually be similar to? Shaun Burgoyne type?

I think he is definitely in his mould with a little bit of Brad Hill.

Ramsey will be delisted. There is a reason we rookied a third tall last year...
Lynch is a link player and not a third tall.
Burton has more talent than McGovern.
Sorry ....no way you could arrive at that conclusion, given the lack of exposure / time

To me Mathieson = Lyons .....our list certainly does not want another player of that type on the list

Solid games?

25 touches and 5 goals is a bit more than solid. Then one of the best on the ground in a final in another. Not many 17 year olds dominate like that.
