What are your thoughts on playing this without playing DA 1 and 2.

I played about 10 hours of DA 1 and enjoyed it but then, like with many video games for me, I drifted off it. Never played DA 2 but didn't hear good things.

I'm generally someone who doesn't like playing games without playing the earlier ones (or watching movies).

Do it. I actually liked 2 but I can understand why a lot of people didn't. The choices don't matter anyway since you can use that thing where you just go through and select what choices you would have made and import it into Inquisition.

Yup I was in the same boat as you. As it stands I've had the game for a couple of months and haven't even really scratched the surface  Got way further in the first game.

Well I finished this last night and am pretty disappointed. Expected a real challenge playing on Nightmare mode, but except for the first boss (which I actually had to use an "exploit" to beat), the game was bloody easy. Knight Enchanter is OP as ****, as soon as I got that (but didn't get the damn trophy for being specialized ) it was just face roll time. Didn't need strategies for the dragons or anything, just run in and attack. Didn't even matter if my party was dead as I was a god.

So I got the plat, 83 hours or so. Had to re kill the lasta dragon as trophy didn't pop first time and redo the specialization quest. Will there be any worth while DLC to this or am I safe to trade it in?

Got my platinum last night, probably won't replay this game anytime soon unless there's a compelling DLC.

Finally defeated this behemoth. Never really ever sat down and played it (127 spread since launch, dammit Destiny).

Really enjoyed it though, although my Mark of death build was a bit op. pretty much one-shotted most of the dragons

I've put in about 88 hours, and am at the point where I am seriosuly considering just blasting through the story to finish it. The thing is, every time I boot it up I say I'm gonna focus on the main quests but I end up sidetracked in caves and side quests. Tbh I think that's why it's wearing thin on me.

Yeah, I found this game to be a lot of filler outside of the main story. I usually like games like that - Fallout, Skyrim etc but for some reason, I found it to be kind of bland in Dragon Age Inquisition.

Had the game for 2 weeks now. Im enjoying it. Level 12 now. It's a good game but there's almost too much to do and I don't know where to start. Playing a 2 handed champion which is pretty fun. Tried to take on a dragon, bad idea...

I like the idea of Skyhold. I think maybe if it were one massive open world like Skyrim or even two or three it would be a bit better.

I played it a fair bit to get to Skyhold and then specialize but now I'm not as motivated to play...

Just jumped back in after losing interest with not really getting anywhere. Trying to stick to the main storyline and am hooked again. Only 20 hours but have been working flat out. Enjoyed the grand dutchess storyline but damn she's hard to beat, after 45mins last night and rage quitting i might have to lower difficulty for this one fight.... ill feel so dirty

This one seems to have heaps more stuff. All the lore, and cluttered UI. Does this game become fun?

I don't know how many hours I've put in, probably 150.

I really enjoy it, although I can definitely understand people being bored.

I took a break for a little while so didn't get burnt out.

Just to go back.. i didn't mean it in a snarky way. I meant more never played a 90s cRPG?

I'd say it's no more jampacked than say: Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Fallout etc.

I found the game really good. Not amazing. I myself preferred a few other RPG's this gen. Divinity: OS, Pillars of Eternity & Wasteland 2. But for what it is, DA:I is fun... how many hours in are you? I'd say if you're 5 hours in and not having fun, then sadly no the game won't change too much for you!

Wasteland 2 is fantastic. Still haven't tried Divinity OS though, not sure how it will run on my machine.

I enjoyed it but I certainly got to a point that I said **** it and just finished off the main story.
