Apparently Masten has broken his cheekbone and fractured his eye socket at eagles training.

The rumours are getting stronger around Perth.

Masten, Ebert, Nicoski, Lecras leaves a fair hole in the mids rotating forward. For the first time this year Koby Stevens has got onto my radar, if true.

All would be long term injuries. Sheppard also injured for some time.

Robbie Gray - thoughts? Can he average 90+?

Tough call between Gray & Birchall v. Franklin & Waters.

While F & W will most likely score more, G & B will be a steady average while being more likely to play 22 games..

What happened to Sheppard?

Hurt himself in the game against saints. Im not sure of his injury but i do know he has a good 5-6 weeks out.

Also with those 4-5 you also have the continuing doubts over Kerr.

Selwood VS Thompson is a hard, hard call... Adelaides draw is swaying me in the way of Thompson (and those 52 possies against GC last year which will be his first match-up is interesting...) But Selwood i can see really averaging at least 115 if he can stay injury free...

Anyone want to shed some light on this???

I like Selwood - younger and has the better bye (bring in Thompson and Rockliff after R11). I'm already struggling to cap my R11 players at 10.

Most if not all of them would be rookies or midpricers which are no guarantee to still be in your team come round 11.

Why would you worry about that.

Good point, but I don't want to rely on pre-Round 11 trades to avoid avoidable donuts. Maybe I'm putting too much weight on the byes.

If you want any chance to win you need to be aggressive these days. Its a formaility that most will start upgrading/downgrading rookies from rounds 5 (3 price changes), 6 (4 price changes) onwards.

Remember you can trade out 2 R11 players from R5 onwards each round if they are a rookie and still upgrade/downgrade nicely.

Very true, thanks =)

This was posted on the WCE board by mick06 talking about Masten on Channel 10 sports news at 5:30pm today talking about his injury:

Masten walking to his car just speaking about the injury. Still waiting on scans to see if he needs surgery but was talking fine and says right for rd 1 either way.

Heh, isn't that funny, R11 is my best bye round, R12 is struggle town for me
ditto. From my starting team it looks as though round 11 will be the hardest, but most of those guys are rookies who will be gone, so my R12 premiums are the hardest to manage by far. So much quality in the forwards especially.

Get on J.Caddy this year. He has been tearing down the place up here. IMO he should average 95+ppg his the next Dane Swan.

Potential only. Don't get carried away.

That's like me telling everybody Cripps is going to average 100.

He might but it stinks of bias and there's big risks on some dude that has only had a handfull of actual AFL games.
