Duigan vs Laidler

Cant speak highly enough of these two additions to the team. after reading through the laidler toast thread it got me wondering who carlton supporters prefer.

im almost certain that most would have them BOTH in the starting 22 and there is very little that separates them but i thought it would be interesting to see peoples preferance in numbers.

so who do you think is/has been better?

Duigan vs Laidler

i think im leaning slightly towards laidler but only because he is younger. i like them both!

Laidler being so young is probably the better pick up.

However Duigan has had a bigger impact.

But like you have already pointed out, Laidler has age on his side.

Duigan just because of going back with the flight into petrie, I cant say I have seen Laidler do that. But then again I have not watched every minuted of every game, so I could be wrong.

Both are great pickups has take our defence from weak to above average.

Duigan is just everything you want in a footballer. You can't buy genuine courage, toughness and skill.

Laidler is a good young age with plenty of growing to do also. Both excellent pickups!

Selected Duigan though, purely for his genuine toughness, and a real old fashioned backman.

Impossible to separate. Each have their strengths.

Duigan is the better contested mark, Laidler is cooler under pressure with better disposal by foot.

I don't have kids, but I'm guessing this is comparable to choosing which child you love more.

I'm just happy they both wear navy blue.

All I can say is I look forward to future criticism of our current recruiting team. Selections out of the box, especially Duigan who wasn't even observed in the AFL system.

Garlett, Duigan, Laidler, Robinson, Jamison .... all inspired selections relevant to their draft positions.

Is it just me or does Laidler seem to play a lot like Dustin Fletcher? Obviously not as good (yet), in 3-4 years he will be awesome (not that he isn't already).

Had to go Duigs because of his hardness and heart but Laidler played his best game of footy so far on the weekend - real coolness under pressure and great reader of the play.
