"They have priority access to father-sons Nick Blakey (son of John), Bailey Scott (son of Robert) and Joel Crocker (son of Darren) plus top indigenous talent Tarryn Thomas through their Tasmanian academy."
We'll miss out on Blakey, but we will land the other three.
No wonder Dusty is itching to get there.
Good times ahead.![]()

North Melbourne is hoping to secure both Dustin Martin and Josh Kelly this off-season
North holds the third-best percentage by a four-win team in VFL-AFL history after Round 17, highlighting its competitiveness.
But if they match it, which they will be unable to do.... but for the sake of the argument, it would basically screw their cap for the next 6 years. North are in a position after last years retirements (delisting), this years retirements and brilliant contract work, to be able to do this deal easily.Huge for the Kangas if they can pull it off. But with this playing out publicly, it will be a massive letdown for their supporters if this doesn't eventuate.
They must make an offer to Martin that Richmond can't match because if they match it, why would he leave Richmond for North for the same money?

I love that this is the line that has drawn you to this conclusion. I mean with all the shit we read everyday, the crap that is on the news every night.... and it's this that has blown you away.I'm not going to get into a pissing contest over Dusty, but I would highlight the massive straw being grasped at with this line in the article.
I would actually expect it to correlate that North has the 3rd best percentage by a 4 win team in league history, given that this is widely accepted as the most even season ever. Despite all the coulda shouldas, the fact is North are still a 4 win team this season just as Richmond who have lost an equal amount of games by under a goal this season coulda shoulda been sitting with a 14-2 record, but the facts are equally that they are 10-6.
Journalism these days has really hit a low ebb.
Key word HOPING! Come on mate that's only a newspaper article on two player's, you can troll better than this as there are articles online about Kelly plus dusty to St Kilda. So have you got any proof of four player's Dusty, Hopper, Kelly and Balic agreeing to joining North as news paper articles don't really cut it?North Melbourne is hoping to secure both Dustin Martin and Josh Kelly this off-season

NORTH Melbourne’s board has ticked off on the game’s most audacious recruiting raid — a stunning double play for superstars Dustin Martin and Josh Kelly.
The Herald Sun estimates the combined value of the deals is in excess of the $15 million mark and has confirmed the Kangaroos have enough salary cap space to poach both out-of-contract midfielders.
The Roos would sign Kelly and Martin on long-term deals each worth more than $1 million a season to accelerate the club’s push for a fifth premiership.

North has not disputed reports of a nine-year offer for Giants star and childhood Kangaroos fan Kelly while six years is closer to the mark for Tiger Martin.

It’s understood the club has spent considerabletime devising a strategy to land both players in October. Factors include:
ARRIVING as a package would allow Martin and Kelly to share the spotlight.
EXISTING links to Arden St (Kelly’s father Phil played 61 games for North and Martin is a friend of defender Marley Williams).
IMMEDIATE impact on a team which has lost five games by less than a goal.
THE prospect of an influx of father-son and academy prospects eligible to join the following year.
Kangaroos head of football Cameron Joyce on Thursday refused to comment on a dual bid for the stars.
“What I will say is that we were decisive last year in making sure we explored every option and nothing has changed,” Joyce told the Herald Sun.
“We will explore every single option available to us … and we will make sure any prospective move ties in directly with our strategic goal of winning our fifth premiership.”
If the Kangaroos pulled off the Martin-Kelly coup they could then load up with four gun kids at next year’s draft.
They have priority access to father-sons Nick Blakey (son of John), Bailey Scott (son of Robert) and Joel Crocker (son of Darren) plus top indigenous talent Tarryn Thomas through their Tasmanian academy.
Blakey and Scott are also eligible at other clubs.
Reversing North’s five tight losses this season would lift coach Brad Scott’s young side to within one win of the top four.
Scott has privately lamented the need for a game-breaking megastar.
The Kangas would not have to trade for Martin, but Richmond could thwart his potential move by matching a godfather offer for the restricted free agent.
The Tigers have tabled Martin the richest offer in Punt Rd history, but the Brownlow fancy is yet to sign their six-year contract.
If the Roos remain 17th they could begin negotiations for Kelly by offering GWS the No. 2 draft pick.

Retired Kangaroo Nick Dal Santo said Martin and Kelly were top-five midfielders who would give North an “absolute dynamic” look.
“My move there went as smooth as it could’vegone in regards to being welcomed into a newfootball club,” Dal Santo said.
“And I think they have equal opportunity. Resources, equipment, facilities — I always felt that I had everything I ever wanted or needed.”
The Roos attempted to trade into the 2012 mini-draft to secure 17-year-old Kelly, rating him above Jesse Hogan and Jack Martin.
But Gold Coast (Martin) and Melbourne (Hogan) satisfied the Giants with earlier selections.

Btw, sorry for taking Dusty.
Oh I'm not baiting you.Sorry mate, I'm not taking the bait.
The article starts off fine, then degenerates into hyperbole.

The Hun are running it on their front page tomorrow.
The task is simple for Richmond, GET DUSTY TO DENY IT!
So you don't think it's odd that North have beaten Adelaide, lost to the Cats by 2points, beaten Melbourne, and lost to the reigning premier twice by less than a goal.. even season or not the 17th placed side normally get flogged.I was referring to the end trail of the article, not the original subject matter.
I don't have an issue with North offering that deal, they'd be crazy not to.
I don't get drawn into post-wars on here, if Dusty goes or stays, it's his decision to make.
Richmond will go on, trust me, far worse things have happened to us since 1980.
Want to put your house on it too?North Melbourne football club is delusional, apart from money what does North have to offer Dusty?
Games at Etihad in front of 20,000 people.
A team that is down the bottom of the ladder.
Get to play 6 games in Tasmania a year, until the AFL officially relocate them there.
future father sons that may choose other clubs and will take at least two years until their bodies are at AFL standard.
Plus Richmond are offering Dusty 1 million at the moment for 6 years, unless North are offering 1.3 million or higher Tigers will match the offer to force a trade as they are not going to except pick 10, assuming they finish 9th for Dusty.
Well......maybe the club knows the outcome so it isn't too worried about taking a public position.
I'm pretty sure the Richmond footy department will be having an urgent meeting in the morning.
Don't have a house to bet with.Want to put your house on it too?
Hahahahahahaha, Yarran, Lids, Ivan?!?!??Why because dusty knows marley so its a lock? Haha.
Also as to matching, no issue. We no longer have yarrans salary or lids, ivan has retired and outside our fab 4 most are on modest wages....we struggled to just pay the minimum this year. People forget how young most of our side is
Well this proves that you don't have a clue at all.... the Giants don't have enough room to offer there own players enough to stay, so his do you figure they would break the bank to pay Dusty??Don't have a house to bet with.
If Dusty is leaving Tigers, it's to go to GWS.
It's all about access to Marley's float tanks. Why because dusty knows marley so its a lock? Haha.

Hahahahahahaha, Yarran, Lids, Ivan?!?!??
Bless. Not even close to having the money to match, you will see.
Ok mate I'll play your game... outside EVERYONE on our list who is on big money.... no one. We can match, beat, laugh at and put cream on top of any offer you make.Mate outside of our top 4 and prestia who is on a huge salary at the tigers? You are seriously clutching at straws here lol
Every club has an extra $2 million in the salary cap.Well this proves that you don't have a clue at all.... the Giants don't have enough room to offer there own players enough to stay, so his do you figure they would break the bank to pay Dusty??
