Just a few comments on the youngster from north in dylan smith. Obsiously the kid has struggled to get a game at north after being pick 6 in the 2000 national draft. What does the future hold for this young man. Didnt get a run at north this year, with young harris ahead of him in terms of getting a senior run. The kid can certainly play, there is no doubt about that.
Even his U18 games he was an in and under type ball player, who got a hell alot of it and used it wisely. Seems certain to be delisted from north, after not really been given much of a run, first under dennis pagan, and then ladiely. I remember ladiely saying when he came into the club that kids would get a go. At number six surely the kid desereved more of a chance at north, but maybe they had to many midfield type players.
Before seeing carlton pickup all those midfielders i would have thought he might have been a chance to get over to the blues to bolster their midfield, now with harford, clarke, scotland there dont seem much hope. What does everyone reckon will happen to the kid. A sad way to go at the age of 21 to think at number 6 in the 2000 draft, and he maybe left without a league club. The one thing he brings to another club if he gets the chance, is he works his butt off and does everything coaches say of him, i hope for his sake he does get another chance, but i cant see it happening.
