Theres a buzz for rising

I dont think too many people would be disappointed if that game got scrapped tbh

Yeah, there hasn't been any buzz since they retitled it 'Metal Gear Rising: Reveagence', and release that awful trailer in Decembers. And I don't think Kojima has had any major influence in the development, other than deciding to turn it into a spinoff.

I'm hoping Kojima wants us to forget the 'Rising' monstrosity, and remind how awesome FOX engine is with a trailer for MGS: 5.

There is buzz from media even if the overwhelming consensus from the internet is apathy.

I'll wait until Platinum Games is finished with it and it's reviewed before writing it off completely. Chances are it will be a fun hack and slash game with a crazy MGS style story line. That I can deal with.

They've already said Rising is playable at E3, they won't announce MGS5 now which would probably blow that out of the water anyway.

On another note, so shitty that EA are pushing Criterion on another NFS title with limited scope and not going for a Burnout follow up. :(

I'd love another Burnout. I remember when the were purchased they were asked about working on the NFS franchise and they said that it was a distinctly different franchise, one they were doubtful they'd be called up upon for.

The problem is that they're being limited to these lame concepts.

Burnout could have Hot Pursuit modes (in fact they had cops and robbers IIRC as DLC for Paradise?) while still being open world, full of vast variety being just the same thing on different tracks.

I have no doubt whatever Criterion bring out will be amazing, as they're one of the best and most underrated devs going around. But EA shouldn't be limiting their creativity.

Hell, they brought in a HUGE feature for EA in Autolog with Hot Pursuit, that's the sort of innovation that Criterion can bring when allowed to think and do for themselves.

HP didn't have local multiplayer. That sucked.

The pro controller for the Wii U and the fact that it is meant to be used for multiplatform titles has certainly gone a bit of a way to changing my view on the console. Means less chance of getting stupid gimmicky features that ruin gameplay in multiplatform releases on the Wii U.

I dislike the pro controller's design. Why do they have do use the same button layout as the Wii Classic Controller and the DS? It doesn't work well with games like Smash Bros, unlike the Gamecube Controller, which works well for just about anything. The right control stick should always be on the bottom as well, no clue why they thought it'd be a good idea to have it above the face buttons.

Will only get this if a good 3rd party controller is released.

The wii U pro controller looks awesome, and I think if they made the right stick under the buttons then it would just be too similar to the xbox 360 controller haha.

I said I hope they make a good CCP type controller for the Wii U and they did :)

Hopefully it can be used in most good games.

Also though seeing as they made such a good controller, maybe the Wii game pad can only be used 1 per system? which would suck!

Haven't they said thats the case all along?

I'm pretty sure they never said anything, but people just assumed that.

But then there was lots of reports of them making 2 per system work, which would be about right I reckon. The days of 4 player local multiplayer are gone you would think :thumbsd: but you need 2 wiipads I would say.

IIRC, they mentioned they'd only planned having one work with it, but were looking at seeing if it could work with multiple

Ahh fair enough, well I'm pretty sure there were some big rumours going around that they had gotten 2 to work with it, so I am quietly confident! I think 2 would be the perfect amount, but those pro controllers look pretty good so I wont really mind either way.

Edit: So were looking at like a 2am Wednesday morning press conference australian time right? (for nintendo)

Have exams this week so I doubt I will stay up but might set my alarm a little earlier and watch it in the morning ;)

Does the Wii U controller not look incredibly awkward to anyone else?

The placement of the right analogue stick to the buttons just seems like it'll lead quite a lot of accidental hitting of the buttons.

I haven't really used the 360 controller beyond much more than a few mins here or there, but I agree the placement of the stick should be below the buttons in a similar manner. Who cares if it looks the same? If it's comfortable that's what you want!

Just seems like it'll be super awkward and cramp inducing.

Yes. As in the OP, these are the times for the press conferences starting 'tonight'.

EDIT: Updated in Coxy's post.

Ahhh Nintendo why do you have to go last -_- cant wait!

Thanks for the timetable though :)

With the controller I agree the xbox layout is probably better but it would look identical, same curves and everything haha but yeah I would be fine with that as xbox is my favourite controller (other than the gamecube <3) but I dont know we will have to wait and see until we can finally get our hands on it before we can judge, it looks alright!

They should have just made a gamecube 2.0 controller to be honest, such a perfect design, with some more solid plastic and 2 analog sticks instead of one and a "C" analog stick, it would have been perfect!

Also Nintendo should have gone before Ubisoft and EA so they could give proper details on the console and some first party games and announce it themselves, then have Ubisoft and EA (who are meant to be big partners of the Wii U) show their games for it.

Controller looks alright, looks like they're going for the same layout as the gamepad but in controller form.

Sticks look awkward but so did the Xbox at first when compared to the PS. Obviously the layout is fine with the devs that have been working with it. Just take some getting used too.

Interested to see where they go with their online service, they've sat back and watched Live & PSN so hopefully they can deliver something big.......and more importantly free to play online.

Awww Nintendos growing up *wipes tear away*
