Steve Wallis (still don't think it was illegal) in Round 22 - the final round of the H & A season.

Next question:

Who Am I? I briefly failed to establish myself at the Sydney Swans and was rescued from the scrapheap (sorry, Subi fans) by the West Coast Eagles in 1996.

I was a high-marking forward who was voted Rookie of the Year in my first season at the Eagles after playing 20 of 24 games, though my career was cut short by injury a few seasons later. I now run my own risk management business in Perth.

yes that was correct player but wrong round, was last round but not 22 and answer to your question andrew donnelly

Yes it was 22 (even in those days) and Andrew Donnelly is correct too.

Who Am I?

I am an Eagles rookie listed player from Victoria who plays for the Falcons in the WAFL and am nicknamed "Hollywood" for my dramatic overhead marking.

no it wasn't round 22 in 1994 there were 15 teams think about it.

There were 15 teams back then, but it was still a 22 Round season (but with a Final 6 rather than a Final 8). I just checked Soaring to confirm. Remember the bye and match ratio?

Who's the rookie?

aaron edwards and i am going by the official 1994 season fixture which makes it round 24

Richard Osborne - I still haven't forgiven him for saying "I don't like the way he goes about his footy" about Woosha.

Who was the last Eagle from that very first game against Richmond in 1987 to retire from playing AFL football?

with milli retiring at the end of the year , who was his first game against and in what year did he debut?

thought I'd resurrect this thread, since we've got about a month of offseason left to waste.

What do Chad Morrison, Andrew Embley, Paul Johnson and Kane Munro have in common? (its something that sets them apart from all other current Eagles)

They all got injured in their first game for the club?

They spent less then 5 minutes on the ground during their debut?

cha-ching! I'm very impressed you got it, actually, thought it was bloody obscure.

Indeed. Paul Johnson in round 5 this year, Munro in Round 21 2000, Embers in Round 1 in '99 (remember the infamous kick the wrong way?) and Chad in Round 1 '96.

All except for Munro started off their careers on the right note with a vanquishing of the dread purple. The deeply traumatic events of round 21, 2000 probably have a lot to do with Citizen Kane's inability to establish himself as an AFL player and might also be behind that pesky eating disorder of his.
Interestingly enough, in the following 3 years, Munro has never played in another derby. I'm beginning to think that just as soon as he plays in a winning side against freo, he'll exorcise his demons and finally start to develop as an AFL player.

From memory... and I am guessing but I think it was against North Melbourne at the MCG under lights... in 1991. He played as a forward and I remember him in particular floating across the pack in the goalsquare to pull down an absolute ripper of a mark..... one of the commentators said it reminded him of Royce Hart.... Its a fairly vivid memory because I remember seeing that and thinking... "WOW this kid is going to be a player" much like I did when I saw Staker play last year.

It was against Essendon at Windy Hill..... I remember this game because Kevin Sheedy tied the windsock down so that we had no idea which way the wind was blowing..... because anyone who had ever played at Windy Hill would know it was called Windy Hill for a reason! Can't remember the score but I remember we didnt lose by that much.
