Guess just an early thread for discussing the '15 crop and those things that aren't thread worthy.

Will start us off.

Very unconfirmed at this stage but I've just heard Ryan Burton has (very badly) broken his leg playing for his school and will best case miss next year.

I really hope there's some embellishment on that info. Absolutely terrible stuff.

I'm a big fan of Callum Mills, looks like me maybe the first new south Walshman to be taken first in a while

Some of the underage Cannons have had good years. Zac Wunhym and Hisham Kerbetieh. Not sure where they'll go yet. The Bulldogs have another Father Son Darcy Macpherson who has been going really well at the Knights.

I would think O'Kearney is the standout underage rat the Cannons

Don't Sydney get him through that Academy thing?
not if eddie gets his way. But, yes, he is an academy member, and we have first dibs, the price is yet to be settled. Add Josh Dunkley in as a F/S and Eddies head is spinning. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Yep, shame all of those guys are so small as they are all talented.

I really, really like Vic Country's crop for 2015. Dunkley, Skinner, Jok, Collins, Weitering, Schache, Eades (moved from WA), Tucker, Mathieson, Parish and Curnow all prospects to watch.

Seen a lot of salivating over Mathieson and Parish already.

If they're good enough they're big enough! Ask Lewis Taylor!

As is Mills from the Sydney academy.

Except he's been arguably even more prolific.
Mills had a few excellent games for sydney at the end of the year. Keays not getting quite the same numbers but still usually the leading possession winner of the top ups for the lions. Keays the better performer at the Champs and did manage AA.

Mills has the runs on the board but the development of keays this year has been great and he certainly deserves to be in the discussion. Most unbiased observers probably take mills ATM but the gap has closed dramatically.

Quigley, how do you rate Keays compared to Heeney and Brayshaw when they were in their bottom age year?

Agree with most of this. I rate both as elite talents but at the moment Mills just seems to have a little more and I've got him slightly ahead. I think KM has Keays ahead though so perhaps I'm the outlier.

I think he has done more as a bottom ager than either of those two. Both Heeney and Brayshaw developed really well going into their draft year though and we have seen before that this has been a problem for the Qld boys before with them having already finished school.

All up an excellent year for mids next year.

Know any other prospects from QLD?

I am nearly as keen on Moseley who will be a very interesting inside prospect. A lot like Wagner as well and I have liked what I have seen of Corvo. Yusia-Marcic had a couple of decent games topping up for the lions at the end of the year and Dennis did okay as a bottom aged ruck this year.

GC would be hoping Woosup and Filewood come on.

Isaac Corvo?

I thought he's the following year? Also isn't he originally Victorian? Does he still count for QLD academy?

Mosley's the rugby player right? Like what I've seen of him. Wagner the blond haired half back too? Both look good.

He is definitely next year and a member of the lions academy. I am not sure on the Victorian thing and if he only recently moved up to Qld it could be the situation like Weller this year for GC with him still being an academy member but not eligible to be drafted.

Needs to have spent 5 years in Queensland before becoming draft eligible, so probably not if he's only moved recently.
