Great team win by EF on Sunday, really thought when EP went 4 goals up it was going to be a long day for EF fans....Wiley at 1/4 time talked about playing simple footy, talked about belief and character which the players took on board in the 2nd quarter. Great to watch, though not overly convinced taking one ruckman into the game is a good tatic week in week out. Young Ellis took some strong marks up front, kicking for goal was off but showed potential he and Watson could cause some damage up front.....both Watson and Ellis were rucking to give Bristow arest....waste I reckon considering Stokes and Fletcher are good young talls who need some game time. Pity Simpson didnt play his zip and x factor is needed....heard some rumours but will wait and see what the club says.

Another appearance at Medibank this weekend v Subi, tall ask but definitely not impossible, Subi are due a loss....we hope!

Great win by the boys on Sat, not too many saw that coming, even those die hard EF fans. Subi are the benchmark and usually in a bad day at the office they either scrape out a win or a 2 - 3 goal loss. 80 pts is a huge loss, definitely a huge wake up call for Subi and hopefully the comp as a whole....Subi aren't invincible but still deservedly so the number 1 team in the comp. Just great to see so many goalkickers for EF....12 in total. Was kind of expecting Watson to be that sole big forward who would kick all of EF goals, but hey the fella is leading, marking, making a contest allowing the likes of Simpson, Peake and Hampson to crumb the spoils. would be even better if young tall Brandon Ellis can get on to the act, take a few grabs and convert more shots on goal into 6 pointers. He took a few beauties in the EP game but kicked 1.3.

Having a fit Hampson has definitely sharpened up EF forward entries, Peake will continue to seagull, but hey at his age he is entitled to do so. Simpson provides that zip and x factor which every team needs and loves.....reckon young Jacob Green will be in line for a league game soon, good to see he is leading EF reserves goalkicking list and is putting pressure on the likes of Tim Bristow and Mitch Boyle. Jesse Adamini is pushing hard for a league debut too, great to see competition for league spots is well n truly alive. Jupp and MacNamara will certainly return when fit.

The Perth game will definitely provide us EF fans with some insight to how well grounded the players are and Wiley's calming influence. Be easy to become complacent after that Subi win and expect the same v Perth. Hopefully Wiley nips that in the bud and wipes the slate clean, Perth have some class players who need to be respected and EF need to go back to square one and apply the same amount of desire, pressure and intensity as they did v Subi....another game another week....everything returns back to zero.....how far EF have come this year will definitely be on show this weekend v Perth.

4 wins on the trot see's EF sitting in 3rd position. Probably no better time to play Peel with Pearce and Mundy now on Freo's injury list. Pearce from memory won Peel the game last time these sides met, with two last minute goals....Hampson is flying at present, along with BOB those two would definitely be up there in EF Lynn Medal count. Bristow keeps battling in the ruck winning taps and possessions whilst kicking the odd goal here and there. Good spread of goal kickers over the last month, though 6.17 on the weekend made that Cl win a lot closer than it should of been, especially since EF had 20 more inside 50's, 10 more shots on goal and more general play possessions. Thought it was gonna be a case of deja vu with EF previous game with Cl, but EF this got a way with the win. From all reports Wiley has a united group, be interested to see how far he can take this group of players. A win over Peel will mean EF have beaten every team in the comp bar SF, with a derby not far away to.

Great derby win on Monday....few outs as well and great to see the likes of Adamini, Hooker and Franklin step up and contribute to a great win. The state game bye should see a few sore bodies get some much needed rest....hopefully Eardley, Schofield, D Anthony and Hampson will be back for the Subi game....can only see Stephen and perhaps Peake playing in the state game....Watson from all reports looks sore. Will be interesting to see how bad Liam Anthony's finger fracture is, though TBH getting more league games into the likes of Perry, Harrold, Cuneo, Franklin, Adamini and D Anthony is important for EF development....I wonder if Simpson did enough to score a league berth back v Subi.....talented player who brings that touch of x-factor to the side.

I have been amazed Wiley hasn't given the likes of Stokes, Fletcher and Solomon some game time....Bristow has been doing it alone and if he goes down or burns out one of those three young rucks are gonna be thrown into the fire at short notice. All three are 197 cm plus and pretty mobile....also state U/18 ruckman from last year in Cronan is playing as well......be interested to see if Watson's sore knee curtails any more ruck duties for the rest of the season.....so far Wiley's one ruck plan has worked well.....not too sure of it's longevity TBH.....

Seems like only yesterday EF fans were staring with disbelief at that 80pt hammering of Subi a few weeks back...benchmark been set high there by the team, be interested to see how Wiley motivates the team for this weeks clash. Both sides will have a few back from injury, not too sure how bad LA finger injury is. That win over SF away with a few quality first liners out in Hampson, Eardley, D Anthony and Schofield out showed EF does have depth outside their top 22. Subi have a shed load of depth too, missing a 1/3 of their first 22 but still nearly scoring the 4 pts v Peel.

Expect a close one here, Subi will want to atone for that 80 pt drubbing and EF wanting to show that win wasnt a fluke.....would more than happily meet Subi half way and win by 40!

Subi colts have struggled this year but snared a draw v EF last time, hopefully EF colts with their skipper back will get over the line. Subi's reserves are always more than competitive and hopefully with a first liners back in the league side EF will be strengthen with a few guys dropping back and a few returning from injury too like Bannister, Green, Barone etc.

Liam Anthony out for a while post finger surgery....touch wood Hampson et al come back soon....congrats to Ray Sorrell on his legends induction......before my time but sounded like a true champ on n off the field.

Gotta move forward I guess.....hopefully the team had an off day at the office.....saying that Subi have spanked many a team's arse this past decade....rather lose like that to Subi than some other side not sitting in top spot.....just goes to show EF have work to do and touch wood it begins at Lathlain v Perth.....surely Bristow needs another ruck to help ease the load, thus meaning Watson can stay forward permanently and kick some goals....BOB needs to stay forward especially whilst Hampson is out. Perth's mids are quality like Subi's, just that Perth's forward line is nowhere near as dangerous as Subi's .....touch wood that will be EF saving grace. Need to keep the chasing clubs like EP and Cl at arm's length with a win here....still a chance for a top 3 spot, but these games are must wins.

Solomon is in against Perth.

Seems like EF were more interested in winning the fights than the footy v Perth last weekend.....not too sure what Schofield was trying to achieve throwing his water bottle at a Perth player.....disappointing to lose against a lower ranked side....just goes to show if you don't bring your A game you can get beaten by any team on the ladder. Huge game v WP on sat.....especially with the bye coming up the following week....40 points should secure EF a top 5 spot....3 wins away from that.....sounds like Eardley, Hampson and LA may be close.....well Wiley seems to think so.....WP are a top unit who until last weekend v SF had won 6 games on the trot....Peel with freo's mounting injury list are definitely vulnerable to being caught by the chasing pack.....if EF don'y get back into the winners circle soon they could have a few anxious moments leading up to the finals.....Subi and SF are the only sure things at present....

EF really need Watson to fire.....BOB, Peake and Krakouer are doing their bit goal kicking wise.....defensively EF struggled containing a "no namer" in Cody Leggett last weekend who hammered EF with 7 goals....6 in the first half....WP have the likes of Lourey, Duffy and Striyck who are better credentialled so the likes of Lester-Smith, Stephen, Read etc really need to tighten up.....WP mids are just as plentiful as Subi's and Perth's.....thus EF mids need to step up and step up quick.....Solomon statistically did well.....37 hit outs, 10 possessions and 1 goal.....though Graham was injured early so it will be interesting to see how Solomon goes against experienced campaigner in Keunen.....Watson needs to get on the scoreboard......yep he is providing a target and a contest but 2 - 3 goals each week on top of this is needed for EF to push as a finals chance.....tough ask up at Joondalup.....but EF need to bounce back and fast!
