eddie seems like an overall nice guy
but hes annoying and sucks up so much that it embarasses me to watch the footy show sometimes
the biggest problem is that he uses the footy show to shamelesly promote collingwoods sponsors ( thats called conflict of interest), and every other thing he can do to promote collingwood, the other 95% of Australias population doesnt really CARE, you get to the point where you want to beat the daylights out of him, we want to watch the footy show, not the collingwood show.

I have found Eddie and particularly Sam Newman so boring that I've stopped watching the Footy Show, so don't see that much of the Collingwood President and TV journalist/game show host.

However, I would think that the real test comes next season when Channel 9 pick up the telecast rights. It would be very hard for Eddie to make constructive criticism of the AFL (for example) as a journalist at the same time as being the Collingwood President, without having a perceived, and probably an actual, conflict of interest.

This conflict of interest debate is confused by the low standard of corporate governance in Australian sport in general (soccer, people with Spotless catering records etc).

In fairness to Mr Ed, there's a big difference also between perceived conflict of interest (Ed) and conflict of interest that leads directly to personal monetary gain (fraud). I think most people know where Eddie's coming from so they discount most of his propaganda.

Actually, the "Socialist" in "National Socialist" (Nazi) wasn't just for show. They originally had an agrarian socialist sort of thing happening, and the 3rd Reich economy was at least partially centrally planned with some nationalised industries.
