These guys have to be THE best band in Australia right now.

Their new album is "Rush to Relax" and it's out soon, can't remember when exactly.

This is the first single from it:

They used the $30,000 they won from the Australian Music Prize to record the new album. I heard a rumor it took them a whole...6 hours. Yes, you heard me right...6 hours to record a whole album. :thumbsu:

I'm expecting nothing but awesomeness from these guys this year :D

Definitely one of the finest bands in Aus at the moment. The new stuff sounds pretty good.

They recorded the AMP winning album for $1500.

Yep great band, and they have announced a national (of sorts) tour to launch the new album.

I have my tickets for the 9th and 10th at the Annandale here in Sydney already.

If you live in Tassie they are coming to you but if you live in Adelaide and missed last nights show you will be heading interstate...

Allegedly some chick on JJJ has labelled them the best live band in the world right now! I didn't hear this massive call but was told about it yesterday.

Check them out if you haven't they really are very very good.

That was Zan Rowe who said that.

Was surprised that Anxiety wasn't in the top 200 on the hottest 100, after it being right up there in the betting.

They are an alright band, but not really my cup of tea.

moshed out pretty hard to them at laneway last night... they went off, finishing off the festival after florence and the machine... saw them at the Prince in Melbourne earlier in the year, but last night was something else...

What Aus bands are your cup of tea?

They're good fun, saw them at Laneway. Not the best band in Aus though.

I'm struggling to come up with a better live band in Aus at the moment. Who would you rate as better?

Well my favourite band is Frenzal Rhomb. Also like The Meanies, TISM, The Living End (especially their debut), You Am I and there are bits and pieces of bands i have heard on short.fast.loud i enjoy but dont know enough to consider myself a big fan.

I would have thought for someone at Triple J to talk about the best live act they'd actually have to go to some gigs not just festivals.:p

For my money the best live act I saw last year (as in new band not reformed oldies) was Bitter Sweet Kicks. ECSR would be right up there as would be Beat Disease. But having said that I didn't see a hell of lot of newer bands last year. Maybe a couple of dozen or so.

Bought the new album "Rush To Relax" yesterday morning and have had a couple of listens already.

It doesn't seem to have the overall strength of Primary Colours but has some absolute standout tracks in - Walked into a corner and Second Guessing - Love them.

Good solid album and will be listening to it a few more times over the next few days.

Also scored a free ticket to their gig on the 10th of April, which I already have tickets for, for buying one of the first few copies so if any is interested I'll pass it on.

Gig is in Sydney btw.

I'm not sure about ECSR. I listened to Primary Colours quite a bit, but still the only song that does anything for me is Which Way to Go. I'm surprised I haven't liked it because I'm a big fan of that sort of fast paced rock.

British India are massively over rated. They are decent live but everything they record seems to be very very similar, and from reports they are absolute ********s as well. Massive ego's. Screw them

Still not a huge ECSR fan but Anxiety is a pretty good song

I've been playing the latest album a fair bit over the past few days and i have to say (IMO) "difficult third album" is the best description I can think of. Mind you they raised the bar pretty high with their first two albums (IMO).

i'm usually pretty loyal to bands, particularly australian indy bands such as eddie cuz. i loved their first two, and couldn't wait for this.

but this album is diabolical. they've lost a fan here. it is beyond trash.
