Anyone with any reports on the crucial Goon vs Catani twos game on Saturday. Seems like it would habe been a cracker of a 2nd half.

was a good game in the end beljak. NNG really should've won it, but blew it with many easy missed opportunities and a costly 50 metre penalty late in the game which resulted in the winning goal to Catani. Goon should go pretty deep into finals series but big ask to win it from outside the top two.

True, it would be very tough to win it outside of the top 2, but it does seem there it isn't that much difference between the top 4 in the 2's this year, I definitely believe we aren't as good as last year, and judging by results there isn't much difference between Catani, Goon and Nilma, certainly makes Cora Lynn vs Catani in 2 weeks an interesting game. Home ground could be a big advantage as I don't think we have played at Catani for about 4 years!

Catani is very tough at there ground in ones or twos. Biggest home ground advantage in the league i reckon. Especially if it gets a bit wet they play it very well.

Year how would you know papa?

This is where the finals should be.

Grand Final - Cora Lynn
Preliminary - Nar Nar Goon
Week 2 Finals - Cora Lynn and Bunyip
Week 1 Finals - Nar Nar Goon and Longwarry

Gives the NNG and CL a week off between matches as well as using the best grounds for finals. Good central locations too.

I dont think NNG is very good. Was a mud heap last year as was Nilma so neither of them should get finals.

They will play 6 different grounds i think. Cora Lynn, Bunyip, Longwarry, Neerim, Warragul and Poowong. Best playing surfaces in the league and it shares it around between all parts of the league.

There might be this year, how do you know where they are?

They won't.

It is a shithole, and i would be very surprised.

Couldnt be much worse than the conditions for the first 2 finals last year. Dont think anyone really gives a stuff about changerooms or other crap like that, they should be played on the best grounds.

Rubbish leo. It's a great ground which recovers very well from bad weather. The only time it gets bad is when its rained on the Friday and then continues on through the Saturday when the games are on. Most grounds would be affected by that.

Just going on what i have seen Stanley, dont reckon it handles the rain as good as some grounds.
We know there is a good chance of rain in august so play on grounds that will be in the best condition.

Darnum shouldnt get a final this year unless they can guarantee better conditions than last year.

Yeah what are you talking about Catani home ground being massive?

We beat them by 8 goals there last year.

You also made a GF too so you had a good side. How many times have you blokes beaten there in the seniors? I only remember nyora doing it once in last 4 years when we were a good side in 06.
Got flogged there every other time.

Lol good point. Can probably only remember the once.

Seriously our two biggest bogey grounds have probably been Buln Buln and Ellinbank.

I think you will find that some of those clubs will not apply for finals.

Nilma had had 110mls of water on it in the previous 36 hrs. No ground recovers from that.

Fool. No club can guarantee that. Ground was pretty good on the weekend considering we have had rain throughout the friday and into the saturday for our last 3 home games.

We wouldnt know about Darnum.
