I thought Carter's decision making was terrible, his kicking action looks fine. I just think he kicked poorly.
That's better than the other way around IMO. I think it is easier to teach composure and decision making than it is getting a terrible action to good.

Hopefully some AFL coaching and experience helps.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but I think that Isak Rankine book would have mostly empty pages, apart froma few with childish scrawlings in crayon of footies and the like.
Ahhhh so we've got a Einstein and Plato gracing the Big Footy board now?

Hey,he seems like a perfectly agreeable young bloke and a gun footy player.

Will Bailey Smith continue his march ahead in draft ratings or is he a realistic chance to drop to the Hawks' first pick assuming it'll be somewhere between 14-8.
It’s hard to say at this stage, I think I’ll have him in that range most of the year myself but could be every chance to go top 5 if he has a strong end to the season and a solid championships

Seemed to go OK today.....

Good stats, couldn't give any thoughts since i didn't get to see it. Dont think he will struggle to find the pill either if he is given proper midfield time which it looks like he will get.

I can't see him going past the Kings, Lukosius or Walsh, but could legit see him pass everyone else with a good season. Fifth is a possibility, obviously depends on draft night though, always changes. As you know, you would have been laughed at to suggest Timmy Taranto was going #2 a couple of years ago at this stage of the year.

I'm starting to not fall in love with a heap of the picks passed 20/25 this year. I think we may have a big top end of the draft and some hugely different ratings passed the first 15 or so picks.
Blame the elite talents - making everyone else look bad. Stupid overachievers ;)

Expect a few new faces in next months rankings update, no massive climbers but some players ive had on my radar for awhile that have performed well in my eyes so far in the championships.

What are your knocks on him DPS?

Seems to have everything going for him
He doesn't do alot wrong and he like Walsh should be a sure bet gun midfielder, i guess some knocks could be his scope for improvement because he is already a good size to impact straight away, his size for his position might also be a concern because if he was say Hately's height he would be Pick 1 material. The main reason i have Walsh higher is his scope to improve since he is still rather light and i prefer his decision making and movement but only very slightly.

Smith will be in my top 10 next month, my knocks on him are only very slight and not enough for me to be too critical.

Smith has his admirers, even a few draft watchers that think he'll end up the best mid in the draft.

I haven't seen many comments on Bytel for a while. It seems some have him in the to 7 or 10 to 14 range and I read the other day someone didn't even have him in the top 30. Why such indifference in opinion?

Bytel was always rated higher with me than anyone else, he didn’t have the best game for Metro on the weekend but that might have come from his long lay off with injury. His disposal by foot still needs to improve which would be the main reason for others having him lower.

What seperates Bytel from James Worpel or Dylan Clarke?

Bytel has better composure than Worpel and I’d say despite his kicking it’s still better than Clarke and he is a bit taller than both aswell.

Hey D_P_S, what’s your thoughts on WA’s Sydney Stack?
I only saw him a few times last year and he showed enough for me to have him top 30 at the start of the year, i haven seen him play this year so i cant really give an opinion on how he is tracking and where he should go.

I'd think Tom Berry would be getting frustrated with not being given at least a crack in the VC midfield rotations given he's one of the few mids with genuine speed and acceleration from the contest as a point of difference.

Has me buggered why they haven't played him in there, i feel its a ploy from clubs either wanting to get him cheaper or to show he can play in other positions.

I've been watching him closely for the last few years at the Rebels and I'd be playing Tom mid/forward not down back. Only thing I can think of is perhaps with his interrupted season they think his fitness isn't up to scratch? I can see the team that nabs him will be getting a bargain.
