The level design of the castle is really brilliant. Taken me 8 hours wandering through getting my bearings. The boss is an absolute b*tch though.

Same here was really blown away by the castle.

Best level design of a building I’ve a seen in a video game ever it’s just massive with so many levels.

Had no idea that enemies can climb up/down ladders if they spot you. my thinking was "I'll be safe on the ladder they wont come" boy was i wrong

Was climbing up a long ladder and i had a big ass knight in armour trailing behind me and killed me before i could reach the top bastard lols

Quite possibly on their end. They've probably speed up the mouse look in their player controller script. Out of curiosity are the menus the same frame rate as the game? Because if they've completely noobed it up there is something called "delta time" (varies from engine to engine) that does calculations based on a fixed time rather than every frame.

My experience with From games on PC is that mouse and KB controls are always super funky but they're best experienced with a controller though IMO so I've never really worried about it.
yeah, it's definitely at their end having spent more time on it. they patched the game to fix some users' mouse issues being too sensitive, but ruined it for the rest of us. so i had to go back in and change DPI AGAIN to get it working OK. thanks for the advice. sadly i could never gel with controller for these games (i finished The Surge 2 with a controller due to the block mechanic but hated every minute of it).

otherwise though, ER is absolutely one of the best games i've played.

Just be patient, use summons and retreat when necessary.

The skeleton soldier summons are extremely useful if you don't have them yet.

Have you put an ashes on war on your weapon?

Have you levelled up your spirit summons?

Have you tried applying a grease to your weapon?

Have you sold any of the golden runes you've probably been picking up for quick levels?

If you haven't already you can head east and hit an admittedly high level new area (you'll know when you do), but it's open enough that you can ride around, take on individual enemies if you wish it just loot the shit out of it for items, weapons, armour, runes. Or alternatively just skip him for now, and head to the area that beating him takes you to. You'll be heading there anyway, may as well head there early and loot.

I think i was level 52 and my weapon was +12 when I finally decided to take him on.

It's also best not to compare yourself to youtube builds if you're not using one yourself. They're ridiculously OP. If you're a basic sword user, chances are you won't hit anywhere near those numbers for a while.

Later game spirit summon spoiler

just found a spirit summon that becomes a copy of you. Max levelled it and I have been walking into camps, putting the controller down and just letting her protect me. I think it's stronger than me 😂

Finally beat the **** I stayed far away from him when he had fck all health left and finished him off with my arrows haha.

Have sword spin and storm wall as my weapon arts. you can get a shield bash weapon art which I want

summons are +1
Sword is +5
I’m level 36 I think

Have been putting points into vigor, strength, endurance and dexterity

that all looks pretty good for early game, it's just a pretty steep learning curve at the start.

I assume you're enjoying the game though? I doubt you'd still be playing otherwise 😂

anyone playing as a vagabond?

If so, are you just levelling up your starter weapon? Or have you found a more powerful one?

I’m very new to souls games (and RPGs in general)

A lot of bosses in this game match up well against in your face melee users. Just fought
Astel and you could only really jump attack it. Snooze fest

I’m enjoying the game very much it’s just just bosses that gave me a hard time. I learnt very quickly not to get angry or frustrated at bosses when I keep dying just chip away till I eventually beat them.
