I know this has been done before, but, this is in poll form and will give us a good indication who Bigfooty is going to vote for at the upcoming Federal election.

I was thinking also ... since TT won the best bigfooty poster .. does that make him our Prime Minister? :D

re:

This is unrealistic, because a large majority of seats are decided on preferences. The Bigfooty pollTM uses a first-past-the-post system.

For instance, I will vote for the Greens, but as they will attract about 5-10% of the primary vote in a "normal" seat, I would vote for the Liberals as second preference.

I realise the Greens won't win, but this vote sends a message to the major parties that I consider environmental issues important.

cheers

re:

Are the 'Democrates' related to Socrates?

re One Nation - it is the person's democrat(e)ic right to vote for whichever party they want.

HAHA....no, I wasn't going to have a go at them, just curious. Would have enjoyed debating a few of their policies with him/her.

But you are right, it's their right and they don't have to tell anyone either.

I voted Labor.

As I don't wanna see Howard as PM for another 4 years.... Pity Im not allowed too vote :(

daddy4eyes, i think it is November 10 - 2 days before my birthday!

Yes this is first past the post ... we should do a preferential vote.

Anyhoo i'd say labor or the greens but then again i know nothing about them :D.

Ahhh for the memories of juvenile socialism.

I hope the Union party does not get into power. Just look at the mess WA is in already with their cockeyed idealistic policies.

Of course they promised no new taxes. But the Union party are the Liar Party, the spend, borrow and tax party so guess what. First budget and we have a new tax. Land tax. If your property is worth more than $1 Million you pay 2% per year. Doesn't matter that it may have been bought by after tax wages or that it is owned by a pensioner who has had the family home handed down through the years, you pay the tax. Oh, I forgot to mention the Union party's charity on this, if the pensioner can't pay then they can defer it until they die. Then the family home can be sold to pay the accumulated tax. What lovely people the Union people are  , especialy if you just happen to be a homosexual, aboriginal refugee with a disability!

Carn John Howard. Huge success with GST that labour wont abolish, best performing economy in western world, wonderful olympics, acknowledged world leader (even by Fatso), strong leadership, honest as the day is long and a bloody nice bloke too leading a party that is GOOD FOR AUSTRALIA

And as for the intelligent :- "I vote for Satan because all my family does" Takes a real brain that, sure beats reading all the policies and understanding what Australia needs for a sound future

If I was old enough, I would vote Liberal. I 'spose it's cos of my family's preferences - they've always been Liberal people. I do have my own other reasons tho. For example, I don't agree with Labor cutting funding to private schools.

Oh yes I agree, heaven forbid they cut spending to the privileged private schools, I think they should cut funding to public schools by half & give it too the private ones.
After all it doesn't matter if the kids from lower income families don't get an education, they will only go on welfare instead of getting a job anyway.

Ok Frodo, Just want to set you straight, if you are referring to my post
I said my family is labor, but then I said that I also tend to agree with most of what labor stand for(just for the record, I AM AGAINST the land Tax). Just the way I feel.

If I could vote, I would vote labor. Not because they are the best, but I just don't like Liberals idea of bloody Privatising everything, and many other policies they have, Really, both parties are no good. I am no way a One Nation supporter, and neither the democrats or greens have a snow flakes chance of ever getting into government, ok so they can't as they don't stand in the lower house, but So thats the way it is

Also i could not agree more with Mr Eagle. I will(would if I was 18) vote for whichever party promises me a SERIOUS republic referendum. I am DEFINATELY a republican.

Carn Labor and Carn the Proper Republic

Private schools get more money from the government than the [government] schools

About time I agreed with you Sandie :D

Even though I think funding to both private schools and public schools should be increased, as it is no doubt a vital issue.

Frodo, you are full of surprises  A 2% tax on a house valued at more than $1,000,000! How outrageous, don't the pollies know that these people are struggling to make ends meet!
