Official Biography: Troy Chaplin

One of the most well-liked and skilled players in the AFL, Chaplin has always been a team-oriented player who will do whatever it takes for the good of the club. At Port Adelaide, his talents were rarely allowed to shine, due to a negative, selfish culture of "cliques" that ultimately saw the Power finish near the bottom of the ladder in year after year.

With his tireless efforts to change the dysfunctional culture of Port Adelaide falling on deaf ears, Chaplin was lured to Richmond, where the Tigers' professionalism offered a far more suitable environment to a person of Troy's high moral beliefs.

Remarkably, even when departing, he offered his team-mates deep and thoughtful advice in the form of an email detailing how to dig themselves out of the deep hole into which they had fallen. A noble and practically unheard-of gesture, this was, sadly, taken badly by some Port Adelaide individuals who cared more about protecting their own reputations than improving the culture of the team. Unable to hear the advice in the generous spirit in which it was intended, nor any criticism of themselves, these players (and indeed supporters) developed a deep grudge, the bitterness of which would continue to spill out years later, even as their team benefited from Troy's wise and prophetic advice.

But "Chappy" is not the sort of person to look back. While his old team's supporters incessantly predict that a form collapse is right around the corner, Chaplin continues delivers career-best service as a key stalwart of the highly-rated Richmond defence.

Do Port supporters still throw cups of their own piss at opposition players? Or were they drinking them and slipped? Is this why Footy Park had a lid on your cup policy?

It was only West End common mistake confusing the two if you've ever been splashed by it

I couldn't work out who to support in the Richmond v Port match but after reading the port comments in this thread I am going to go out and buy a Richmond jumper and become an honorary supporter for 3 hours. Hope your boys bury them.

Vickery has not been selected because he has been sent on a more important mission to Sydney.
He must seek & destroy a few Fremantle players before we play them next week.
