Emergency Discussion

My Dilemma:

Backs: Goddard, Cornes, Fisher, Drummond, Grimes, Raines, Houlihan, (Broughton, Petrenko)

Now Houlihan, Broughton and Petrenko are all out, but all listed as emergencies.

Do I:

A: Put Houlihan on the field and list both Broughton and Petrenko as emergencies giving myself the best chance in case one is a late inclusion.

B: List just one of Broughton or Petrenko as emergency, thereby allowing me to have Hartlett and Walker as emergencies for centre and forwards for better security.

What would people do in this situation, as I feel I am a reasonable chance of having one of those three backs playing.

Im in the exact same boat as you buddy. However, I have T.Tuck on the field in the centre, and Goodwin on the field in the forwards (with Cockie and Warren on the bench, respectively)

Atm I have Houlihan on the field with Petrenko as the emergency...the way I see it is I heard Harvs say he wants some kids to have a rest, so maybe Broughton is the least likely of the 3 to get called up.

Entirely up to you though :)

PS Im thinking maybe I will put Cockie on the field over Tuck, have no centre emergency in order to have 2 backline emergencies. Big call I know...decisions, decisions...

Not sure about your logic for two reasons.

Broughton is 21 and has only played two games.

Broughton has flown over with the team.

I would like to know if Houlihan has flown to Adelaide, if not, we know that he won't play. If he has, I may go with Him and Broughton.

The other thing is to wait for the teams to be finalised for tonight, that way I know that Chapman, Higgins and SJ are playing, after that I would feel better having no emergencies in the forward line.

If you have Broughton and Cheney as your emergencies and Cheney get 80 and Broughton 60, whos score do you get?

You get the lower score, 60 in this example. I named both Robinson and Beams as emergencies in my mids last week as I have both Higgins and Kornes - because Kornes played, I got 40+/- for Beams rather than Robinson's 100 :( If Kornes had not played, I would've got 40+/- for Beams in for Higgins and 100 for Robinson in for Kornes...

This is kind of an emergency related question.

Rich and Hartlett... Have to have one on field and one as emergency in case something pops up. Can't decide who is going to score higher.. Hartlett has Sydney but Rich has the Saints... Hmm...

Brought, Cheney and Houlihan

All emergencies for their respective sides, what do you think are the chances of any of them coming in for a game?

Personally, Houlihan seems to be a chance, he is listed as first emergency.

Someone has to be though, don't they. No Carlton players are in doubt as such, and Houlihan has been named on the ball for his VFL side (not sure if this is important). I think Broughton would the most likely player to come in out of those three, and I personally would think Houlihan is actually the least likely.

yeah same dilemma

broughton or cheney as emergency. so hard!! i might start one of them and have the other emergency with houlihan not. seems like broughton or cheney have more chance than him but if he played i would be so angry.
what are others doing?

No its not.

Back in the old days it chose the higher, but then you would just put someone not playing onto the field and make two guys emergency, therefore getting the highest score. Clearly a flawed system.
Also used to not be restricted by position too. Eg. you could not name a defender and your best emergency would come in whatever that position.

Harsher now and in some ways unrealistic that you wouldn't sub in say a Taylor Walker for a withdrawing Dean Cox just because Walker's not a ruckman and instead play 1 short.

But it used to be exploited so had to be changed to what it is now.
