Thanks for the write up mate. Always so confusing how many list spots anyone has. Biggest pet peeve it isn’t public info, even the media struggle to know how many spots teams have available.Assuming Retchko and Campbell go on the Prinary List, by my count we have:
33 Primary List spots filled
3 rookie list spots filled
1 Category B spots filled.
Dow and Sonsie are both uncontracted but may still get a contract, but I’ve not included them in the 33.
As the Primary List and Rookie List work together, we have:
- Minimum 1, maximum 3 rookie list spots available.
- 1 Category B spot available
- Depending on the Rookie list; we have either five primary list spots available (if we have the minimum rookie list filled) or three if the rookie list is filled to maximum. Again, Sonsie nor Dow are not included in that.
Happy to be proved wrong on the above.
My bet is that we’ll take four draft picks (3,4, 38 and Kellaway) re-sign Sonsie to a one year contract extension, and either rookie Dow or delist him, with an SSP sign on (Harry Scott would be my hope).
Being a weaker draft particularly at the back end, I’d fully be expecting Scott to be drafted by someone in the national draft. If we don’t pounce with 38 (if he is even available) I think he’s gone.
