Beloved
Brownlow Medallist
I've started to get into online now and have pretty much smashed everyone I've played. I decided I'd play one more for the night just for shits and giggles. It turned out to be a huuuuuge challenge. A very low-scoring but thrilling match.
I definitely didn't have my kicking boots on, 0-3 at quarter time and 2-7 at half time. I broke out to a 10 point lead at the final break but he kicked the first. Luckily, I got back quickly. He then put on another one with about 14 minutes left on the clock.
The rest of the quarter consisted of inside 50 entrances, defensive 50 clearances, ball ups, throw ins, free kicks - every but a goal. With 5 minutes on the clock, he went forward and an arm wrestled ensued. Spoil after tackle after spoil after tackle, he decided to have a ping, a snap around the body that missed by the smallest of margins.
I figured that I just needed to wind down the clock. Chipped it short to the pocket, bombed it down the wing to a free man and then just put it over the boundary line. I locked it in at the throw in and thank buggery, the siren goes.
