I remember when I was in u18s and we had someone come to our club and told us that for every full strength beer you have, you are something like 5% likely per drink to get injured if you played within 24 hours.
That week the night before the game, I hit the piss for a mates 21st and the following day rocked up to the game 90% likely to get injured.

Fair play to the lady, she was right, I did my knee and ankle in the one motion and was out for 3 months.
