pazza's in the cheer squad. 'Nuff said.

Grog squad aren't actually on the cans that much. Maybe 4-5 out of the 20 or so hit it hard, most don't drink that much at games. And Whomb - the GS has been going (in various guises) since the 80s. It ain't going to degenerate into anything anytime soon.

Very disappoint with the chants from the Bomber's Cheer Squad. There is so much potential for having awesome chants, but all I've ever heard is 'Essendon! Essendon!' etc.

I'm all for being vocal and supporting our great club, but the constant "you are a w***er", and attempts at witty chants to the tunes of well known songs is bloody annoying.

what's wrong with "Essendon! Essendon!", "Booomb-errrs!" or the name of a player, ie. "Guuuuumbyyyy! etc"

Because that's lame and 'bloody annoying'.

As I said, each to their own.

When I was there, it appeared only the grog squad themselves and a few other drunks around me were enjoying it. Everybody else either didn't care or were visibly annoyed by it.

Is the grog squad still a thing? I stood with them a few times about 20 years ago. I can see both sides of the argument. There were a few good eggs in there but I can see why others might find them annoying. I actually took a trip to Adelaide for a final with a few of them in 2003 and had a good time. There was a guy called Dodgey who seemed to be the leader of the pack. A pretty nice guy actually.
