Competitions Essendon Board Draft Game

Is it early? Yes. But I'm extremely bored and this thread only needs to be made to see who would like to participate. Obviously it would start after all list lodgements are made

As a lot of you will know we did a draft game last year which was quite enjoyable. It's something I'd be interested in doing again, and I'm sure other posters would as well. IMO, it took a bit too long to make teams, but that's just me. Anyway, we can talk about how it could run, the rules, etc. If people are happy with last years format then that's fine as well. I won't be running it so if anybody is interested in doing that they can volunteer.

I quite like the Adelaide boards format, as it comes down to voting and how players performed in the next season, so you aren't just choosing players who you think others will vote for. If think you've found a player going under the radar thatwill do well, you would have every opportunity to pick him. It would also go longer. You'd also have to be fairly interested in the game if we were to go down this route.

There's a link in Romm's post to their draft game thread.

After a quick look:

They do three seperate drafts; after list lodgement, post NAB pre season games and then a mid season draft. Draft 25 players first time round, then over the next two drafts you top up to 30 players total, delisting on the way if you wish. Then there's a scoring/voting system for each team at the start and end of the year. Bit more of a commitment.
