Saw he racked up the stats/sc points on the weekend but didn't see the game - anybody able to comment on what kind of impact he actually had?

Houli had a big impact on the game.

Brilliant rebounding with top notch kicking to position.

He and Cotchin were Richmond's best.

Essendon "can" win the flag. Just like any other finals team can. If we didn't have injuries and so forth, we could make a charge.

I think if everything went our way we are a chance to make a preliminary on the basis we have the bye in the last round, we of course would need no more injuries, to play all finals in Melbourne, our key players to play to maximum potential, a great fitness base and for our form to resemble our pre-season early H&A season form.

Hopefully it can reflect Collingwood in 2007 (i think), when they just got over the line against West Coast, Beat someone else, and just fell short against the Cats.

They also started off well that year, had a mid season slump of form and came back into form finals time.

But what if we finish 7th?

We will finish seventh, and depending on how we play, we might even get three games out of September. But beating either Geelong or Collingwood in September is a very tall order. I don't think that will happen.

I just finished watching the game (PVR replay). The boys kicked a helluva lot better; I don't know if that was due to less pressure from the Doggies at times, or more likely intense coaching in that department, something that Jimmy has been stressing on as a priority.

They also recovered very well after the Doggies piled on 5 straight in the third; which means they have more belief in each other as well as confidence in their own game.

I'm blabbing, aren't I?

very glad some of you arnt in the coaching room - 'cant' this & 'no' that:thumbsdown:

it is 'highly unlikely' the EFC will win the 2011 flag but far from 'impossible'

It was a pretty soft game in terms of pressure. We are a better kicking side than last year, but not by that much.
