I understand not wanting to mess with our defence. The solution then becomes to not play Carlisle at all. We carried him the whole game.
Oh and Dempsey can go back to the VFL for a few weeks too.. find some form. Would prefer Gleeson at this stage, thanks.

hawks beat saints by 145 today, we lost to the saints and just barely beat the dogs. We are so far off remotely being a threat it is ridiculous. I feel so dudded after the promise of last year.
sadly yes. scraping by is more important than putting away the average teams easily.

Interesting that all seem to agree that Hurley tore Crameri a new one.. Crameri and Carlisle had statistically similar outputs tonight. Logic therefore dictates that if you accept that Crameri did nothing, then Carlisle did nothing also.
I know there are bigger issues than just Carlisle.. but you have to start somewhere and right now.. the whole team is flat and I wonder if SOME of it is about guys not being happy.. or not feeling like the game plan is suiting them or whatever.. or maybe they just don't appreciate Thompson calling them lazy in recovery, or suggesting they need to be Geelong.

I actually thought he was pretty good. Loved his big second effort on the turf in the 3rd quarter.

i expect Ryder to struggle a little against a guy like Minson. Big bodied ruckmen who can push him off the ball.. but Ryder held is own once the ball hit the deck and provide a lot of run through the middle too.
I would be the first to say that Ryder doesn't appear to be in cracking form this year, BUT he did ok tonight. I'm sure Ryder will appreciate it when TBell comes back.

That standard of performance would have lost to 14 or 15 other clubs tonight.
Plenty of work to do before we travel north next week. It's the sort of game on the road against a bottom team that we are likely to lose.
