I just have a question concerning ticketing.

last year for Rd 20 v Carlton I used my 17 game bronze membership, swiped and sat up top deck in the Southern Stand. I'm really banking on doing the same thing this time around.

Is anyone out there that could help tell me if this is possible and if not, then what i should do:)

Regarding your question I'm not too sure what's going to be the outcome....
But I'm going to cheer on the mighty Bombers against the Blues, should be a cracking, fast free flowing game...! :thumbsu:

ive got a bronze membership too...does anyone know if i get reserve seating?:)
If you have it as part of your membership package then you do, otherwise you just get in general admission I guess.

On the topic of reserved seating both of our first two games were away games. At the Kangaroos game I just rocked up, swiped my card and walked in. At the Geelong game I tried to do the same thing and it wouldn't let me. It said "Wrong Day" on the electronic thing on the entrance gate. I had to go and get a ticket to get in which by that stage was standing room only(I usually stand anyway so that's not a problem). WTF?

I also presumed that having a reserved seat would automatically get me into ANZAC Day but apparently it doesn't and it now is sold out.

It's really confusing.

You don't get reserved seating unless you purchase a reserved seat. I think this is about 100 per annum. I don't purchase one because I stand. That said, I do have to purchase a ticket via ticketmaster if a game is fully ticketed.

This game was general admin as they didn't feel it would sell out. As such normal members could just swipe and walk in.

This game was fully ticketed. Meaning, as in my previous post, that you need a ticket for entry. Even if you have a membership you still require a ticket to gain entry. You can organise this at the ground for free or do it online during the week and accept an admin cost of approx $3.

Most Essendon, if not all, home games are fully ticketed. The only ones which aren't are those which are against lower member clubs like Melbourne and the Doggies... or perhaps interstate teams.

I also presumed that having a reserved seat would automatically get me into ANZAC Day but apparently it doesn't and it now is sold out.

If you have a 17 game membership and a reserved seat you SHOULD have access to an Anzac Day ticket as your reserved seat is just that. If this is not the case I'd love to hear how and why from someone else??

Also, Anzac day is NOT sold out... not yet. Close, but not quite. There will be very limited tickets available from time to time in dribs and drabs, mostly single seat tickets. These are available as they're handed back to ticketmaster from AFL Memberships etc not attending. Also, I don't believe standing room tickets have gone on sale as yet so they should show up in the next week or two. The best thing to do is just keep checking Ticketmaster daily.

Ari, could you explain to me how come last year rd 20 v Carlton, I was just able to scan in and sit up on level 3 top deck. it was our home game as well?

thanks mate

You have a 17 game membership. You can walk up to all Essendon matches in Melbourne (provided they're not fully ticketed, for example Anzac Day).

I have a 17/18 game membership...I can scan and go in to every Essendon match at the G and sit in general admission.

Essendon-Carlton won't sell out, but get there an hour or so before if you want a decent seat. Actually I think I rocked up 20 minutes before, last year, and still got a seat near the front of the top level.

You'll be able to do that this year as well. The only time you're unable to do that is if a match is fully ticketed... usually the case at Telstra Dome. If a match is fully ticketed you need to arrange a ticket during the week from Ticketmaster. They'll only charge you a few dollars for a booking fee.

If a match is fully ticketed you're still able to rockup to the ground to get entry but will need to go to the ticket counter to grab a ticket. They will scan your membership and give you a ticket for entry. The risk of course is if it's a fully ticket match and the match sells out then you'll be stuck outside. Even with a membership you will not have entry.

This is where having a reserved seat helps... as with a reserved seat if it's a fully ticketed match you will always have your own seat and won't need to arrange your own ticket... your membership will scan and gain you entry as it should know you have a seat attached, well to the better of my knowledge anyways!

Theres only three games this year that you have to pre-order your seat. (Thats if your a 17/18 game Memeber with Reserved Seating)

Geelong Vs Essendon (Last Sunday)
Collingwood Vs Essendon (Anzac Day)
W.B Vs Essendon (Round 21, Correct me if I'm wrong)

For All of the other Away games you can get in for free, but your not guaranteed a seat, which means you wont get reserved seating for the game.

On your Membership card it will have Reserved seating details for Telstra Dome and MCG, these only apply for Home games only.

.

So what's the point of having a reserved seat if you have to buy one anyway?

I noticed a few days ago on my card it only says reserved seats for home games, though I have an 18 game membership. So I'm guessing I don't have reserved seats for away games. I'll have to chase that up with the club because I'm pretty sure I paid to have a reserved seat at every game.

Cheers. I'll keep checking.

Also, I have two mates that want to come to the Bulldogs game. Should they prebook tickets or will they be able to get in if they just turn up on the night?

I forgot to mention, but when you pre-book your seats online you have to give your Barcode number and details and that'll only cost you around $2.00 to reserve your seat, It only really depends on which game it is.

(eg. I pre-ordered seats for the Hall of Fame match and it cost me only $5.00 for Level 3 seats row D, using my Membership Card number of coarse, otherwise it would have coast me about $20 - $25, Way cheaper than I thought, even without my Card)

For the season, i have reserved seating and parking and i still haven't recieved my membership package yet. It was payed for quite a long time ago and im still wating for my matchday seating tickets (for the blues games), my parking and my card. I've made constant calls and it better come in soon because the first game isnt far away. This is pathetic

About your Membership,

You might of had to pick up your Membership Kit at the game either last week or the week before at the Dome before the match, I and many other people did that and were given free tickets if the club couldn't supply our Membership package by then.

As for your Matchday tickets for Carlton games, I have no idea why you'd buy them because its an Essendon Home game where you don't need to pre-reserve your seat.

I get to all home games for free and thankfully the career dropped them off at about 7.30:thumbsu:
And i don't buy the tickets each week, they just provide it
