As above, I started following footy in 1993. When did Madden stop playing?

Cox is the best I've seen.
sorry dude i hadnt got to that post when i replied. You missed out on the most fluent ruck i ever saw. My favorite player as a kid along with Van der haar. I can only imagine what those guys could have been like in the professional environments of today instead of sucking on a *** and a beer at half time in the change rooms.

In all seriousness, I'm pretty worried after having seen the named side.

Far too short and structurally weak up forward, and in particular against a side with the quality talls that the Eagles have.

We have to win this, which is worrying.

On the flipside, I'm really looking forward to seeing Steinberg at AFL level.

The counter to that is that we can run them off their feet. Three rucks (the most mobile of whom will play the most in the ruck) and McGovern who is far from fit means that WCE will be slow. Mitch Brown has been playing small/medium recently (took Elliott last week) so he'll probably play on Chappy, but that still leaves McKenzie, Schofield and McGovern to match up on Ambrose and Daniher. One of them has to play small, which means there's a good chance our forwardline will be too mobile.

I reckon this will be a game where the midfield decides which forward/back structure is better. I'd happily back us in over Priddis + flankers.

Schofield will probably play on Watson when he's up there. He's pretty mobile for a 196cm KPD

That's a win for us then, because one of their two best talls isn't playing tall.

Yeah, hope you're right.

I still remember seeing Gibson, Stratton and someone else (Cheyney?) going to town on Cox, NicNat, Lynch and Kennedy a few years ago.

Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I think when you've got two different strategies such as this, it depends on delivery. Pressure the delivery and we'll smash them on the rebound. Let them hit targets and we won't compete in the air.

Gilham?

My prediction; Hibberd late out, TBC in.
Outcome; back line too slow, forward line too shit, so we need the midfield to have an absolute blinder.
My cup is currently half empty
