There is an article on afl.com.au (sorry can't link, on iphone), where Lyon says the stats in the past 7 weeks for either side are extremely even, although Adelaide has a slight advantage in attack. I personally think that the Saints are still a far superior side, but in saying that we pushed them in round 2, and with now a more structured side, could possibly beat them. Thoughts?

Haha the oldest trick in the book.

I agree with Neil Craigs assessment, we will be able to compete.. it's just a matter of whether we can compete for long enough

Looks like Lyon isn't keen on becoming the hunted. This is what happens when you knock off the big fish Ross!

He stated that we were STATISTICALLY better than the Saints the last 7 weeks.

As 18th Century British PM Benjamin Disraeli so famously stated -

"There are three types of lies. Lies, damn lies and statistics"

On a side note:

Maybe D_One could take that quote into consideration :thumbsu:

Of course he will talk us up, he wants to make sure his lads are switched on this week. Don't read too much into it. They are still a much better side than us, and their attack is better as well, it will be a huge test for us.

Crows by 4 goals.

I think that we're a huge chance this week if we play as we have the last couple. Of course we need to expect a tad more defensive pressure than Freo were able to apply!

Nothing unusual in talking up the opposition before the game. You won't find too many coaches who will come out and say "We are a vastly superior team and we expect to win easily" :D

They are coming off a trip to Subi, so no better time to play them.

I believe that we'll win this week. :thumbsu:

If we are on the wrong side of a 30-11 free kick count like the game here, we will struggle.

We didn't play Collingwood last week. Last time the afl needed to appease the victorian football clubs/media after a single obvious free kick wasn't paid to Collingwood. hence 30-11, the afl won't have that agenda this week:thumbsu:
