Not to mention how sincere the 'thanks' thing was. Hold up a few cards, fly all your ridiculous Suarez supporting banners over the top of it and to top it off, sing that ******* song while you're at it. The club has absolutely no class.

Seriously? They covered the entire Kop with a show of appreciation for Everton's ongoing support with Hillsborough (a tragedy that resulted in the loss of life of friends and family members of Everton supporters as well). That's not something they do every week so I don't know where you're coming from with regards to it supposedly being insincere. From memory we've put together that kind of display twice (release of the findings of the Hillsborough Independent Panel in 2012 and Hyypia's retirement in 2009) in the last few years so it's clearly not just a token gesture, the club is genuinely very grateful for everything the Everton community has done to support the families of the 96 in the last 23 years.

The Everton supporters at the away end responded to that by chanting 'Murderers', and apparently we're the ones with no class? I've got a lot of respect for Everton as a club and the way they and their supporters go about things but you're taking the p*ss here.

It was a half arsed attempt to save some face after spending the last fortnight defending a bloke that likes to bite humans. When we had our tribute, we played He Aint Heavy, and made an attempt to put all partisan support to a side. I'm sure all the Evertonians at the ground felt very appreciated as YNWA blasted over the speakers.

And yeah, a few Everton fans tried to score some points by mentioning the fact that a whole heap of Liverpool fans killed a bunch of people in Heysel. It's not to my taste, and it would have been better for them to swerve it, but luckily for poor little Liverpool, the media have latched on to this, are spreading it everywhere and are still trying to convince everyone that always the victim is about Hillsborough.

They spent the whole week in the lead up belittling Everton, the whole game belittling Everton, and everything in the post game belittling Everton.

No-one was defending Suarez and in any case it had nothing to do with him. Do you seriously think Liverpool wouldn't have done that tribute if Suarez hadn't bitten Ivanovic? Do you know how crazy that sounds?

You'll Never Walk Alone is an anthem that has taken on particular significance for Hillsborough due to the relevance of it's lyrics. It isn't intended as an insult to Everton or any other club, and I don't know why you've chosen to interpret it that way.

As for belittling Everton? In the lead up to the game there was banter from both sides as there always is, but it shouldn't be confused with a lack of respect. There's a reason the Merseyside derby is called 'The Friendly Derby', it's a rivalry but there isn't the same hatred between Liverpool and Everton as there is between Liverpool and United. Everton players and supporters bait their Liverpool counterparts by saying they're the best team on Merseyside and Liverpool usually respond by pointing out that Everton haven't won anything in years. It goes both ways so I don't know why you're concerned about Everton being bullied.

As for the chanting? Very distasteful, particularly considering the unified front Everton and Liverpool have shown this year with the release of the Hillsborough findings clearing the names of families from both clubs. Claiming 'always the victim' is just about Suarez-Evra? Please. You and I both know that while a few supporters might sing it innocently, there are a large group of whoppers out there who are belting that out with every intention of winding up Liverpool supporters about Hillsborough and Heysel. It's like that idiot group of Liverpool supporters who feigned ignorance when they were chanting 'Munich' at Old Trafford earlier in the season by claiming it was in response to Bayern winning the Bundesliga or something stupid like that. Some things are more important than football rivalries.

Like I said I've got a lot of respect for Everton and it's supporters but I can't see where you're coming from with your views on this.

Anyway, I don't want to leave on a sour note so congratulations on once again being the best team on Merseyside this year, it looks like you've got it wrapped up now. Moyes had you guys playing remarkably consistent football and it's testament to how difficult Everton are to play against that you managed to take so many points off the top sides this season. There were a few occasions this year when I wish our players had shown as much resilience as yours.

We haven't got it wrapped up yet. We haven't done the double against anyone this season (so far) so I honestly expect us to draw against West Ham and lose to Chelsea, while you guys beat Fulham and QPR and pip us on goal difference. Hope to be proven wrong though.

On another note, if we do finish above the redshite again, I would be incredibly disappointed if any of our managerial or playing staff said that we had a good season just because we finished above them.

Liverpool supporters are from a different planet, well the vast majority of them anyway. From a Liverpool perspective it is quite disgraceful to think they could finish below us 2 years in a row with the resources at their disposal, the amount spent on players and wages! But if we mention this then apparently we are bitter.

Not a different planet...just Norway

Definitely wont, it would be just about be a failure ecause we should have had Europe wrapped up a month ago :(

ADL9798 I probably have gone a little overboard. If nothing else, it was an error of judgement to play YNWA at the same time as thanking Everton. A lot of the intended sincerity was lost.

While it clearly doesn't apply to you individually, as you are one of the most level headed Liverpool fans I've spoken to (especially on the internet!), but there has been a lack of respect shown to Everton from Liverpool for a long time, but especially this season. From Gerrard's comments post the Goodison derby, to Gerrard's comments pre this derby, to the absurd media coverage of this derby (including lies about the actions of some Everton fans). It's understandably frustrating.

Like I said, I do appreciate that tarring you with the same brush as more deluded Liverpool fans is the same as assuming that all of us would be cool with calling all of you murderers. There's bad eggs supporting every club. Luckily I don't think there's too many here.

Apologies for going a little overboard, I'll save my anger for Shite fans that actually deserve it!

Now onto the important stuff. Naismith for Coutinho? Sounds like a deal!

Fergie retiring... Guess Mr Moyes might be heading to Old Trafford.

A few days ago it seemed Mourinho would be heading back to Chelsea, now because of this some suggest Mourinho is favorite to take over at Man Utd.

Now, if that happened I can see Di Matteo returning there, as that's who the fans want. If not, Klopp from Dortmund must be highly rated to be a chance. Can't see Moyes being picked by Utd or going to Chelsea, even if he is considered by them.

But, if he does leave that leaves us with more problems than if he stays, in my opinion. Who do we attract? Who can do a better job? If Moyes leaves, who leaves because he does and who goes with him from the backroom staff? Like a discussion I had with someone at work, we might only be able to attract a manager that's rated by throwing as much (or more) cash as we do at Moyes.

Moyes' next move I think comes down to how much money we have to spend. If its going to be the traditional **** all/spend what we sell...how will that be attractive for someone else? If there won't be much freely available, and Moyes goes I couldn't blame him, he's already pushed enough shit uphill. A few players comments over the last few months are very indescreetly aimed hints at Kenwright and co. to back the manager. It's the board that needs the blowtorch on them, not Moyes. As mentioned we will be part of the circus, just hope we aren't the clowns!

Well as far as attracting a new manager from a financial point of view lets not forget what Everton are paying Moyes makes him the highest manager in the league currently! That includes Sir Alex Ferguson. So we surely will not be paying a new manager more than what are already forking out.

Even if Wigan go down, I like the type of football that Martinez has Wigan playing. I would not be against him as the new manager. While we might see a lot of changes in the backroom staff we need changes on the field. Maybe someone like Kone can come across with Martinez.

I'm happy for Moyes to get a crack at a big club... But I'll be ****ing fuming if he takes Baines with him.

Anyway, this is what we were asking for after the Wigan loss. Time for the club to show some bloody nuts and make this a good change. Give the new manager money and let him shape his squad.

This is like when a long term girlfriend breaks up with you. You feel insecure because it is all most of us have been used to (I started following the toffs the year before we go Moyes).

Then you realise the world goes on and there is heaps more out there to smash.

Now... back to my point. Martinez please

Well, get ready for that I'm afraid. He's better than Evra, cos he's better than every ****ing left back in the ****ing country :( just like Rooney & Lescott, he will want to go somewhere to win things. I'm just hoping he over-pays even for Baines just to help us out, which in reality is probably unrealistic. In my mind Fellaini is defintiely gone, probably Heitinga too, and probably Baines.

The most we could get for JH would be 5 mil, but it's about time out ball-less board grow some, because if we don't get over 25-30mil each for the other two I will be absolutely furious. It would clear a big chunk of our debt, and with a new manager he can rebuild the squad from fresh. Basically, it's HAS to be a fresh start for the club. Won't have most of the financial overheads of the last 10 years, will have a chance to build his own team...

Probably only clutching at straws to think we will stay competing for Europe after all of this which hurts a lot to say :(

As for the replacement, I don't want Martinez either and I don't want Laudrup. He mostly took over what Rodgers did at Swansea, and Michu's early season form carried them for a big part. We can't really take the manager from a lower league route because the club is in a totally different position to 10 years ago, but for at least right now I can't think of who I want to replace Moyes, because I never seriosuly thought of this day coming...

Oh and even if it doesn't end up being Moyes somehow, I can see us being very unsettled for our last two games. If we fail to beat West Ham & Liverpool finish above us on the final day and we lose Moyes, that will mean it an awful season for Everton. Least we can do is throw everything at the Hammers, and at least show the new manager is taking over the best team on Merseyside

Good posting Ossie. None of the available replacements fill me with any confidence, we look set to lose a number of key players, and will struggle to bring in the quality we clearly need to progress. We look like we'll be fighting at the other end in the not too distant future.

Barring an Evertonian miracle!

But seriously, it looks as though it is all but done with Moyes.

I started following us around the time he started so really only know him as a manager and am very nervous about what could happen when someone new takes over the reigns.

I am concerned that Baines and Fellaini will follow him to Man Utd, I don't think we have much drawing power as a club and that a lot of players came to Everton because of Moyes' reputation.

It is going to be a very interesting off season.
