So we're going to lose a striker and not bring one in because koeman wants 50 wingers
We're losing a striker who's made two starts in 12 months and hasn't played a single minute in the league for Koeman. No need to replace him mate.

EDIT: I think we do need a striker but I don't think we suddernly need one because Niasse is going. We have depth with Kone and Valnecia we just don't have quality depth, let them both go at the seasons end and give our striking depth a full revamp. Valencia probably still deserves the rest of the season to prove his worth, hasn't set the world a-light but has been better than I thought he'd be.

Pretty much this. Another creative spark in midfield would be what I'd be chasing personally, but whether we are prepared to fork out is another question.

It looks like things aren't going too well between Walsh and Koeman. Usually you appoint the sporting director first and then the sporting director has a say in appointing the manager so that there is some consistency in the philosophy of the two - it looks like we are paying for doing it the other way around.

The reality is that Leicester's season was an absolute one-off rarity that will probably never be repeated. Sure, Walsh did a great job with some of his finds but we were of the stance we were recruiting an elite talent finder & master recruiter.

Maybe though, and this was my first thought as soon as I heard we were interested, he also just got very lucky & maybe he's not much better than most people in the same position? Vardy & Mahrez in particular won them the title, this season they have both done next to **** all.

We are now a week & a half into the transfer window and have signed just one youth player. There have been clear gaps in our team all season, well for a few years now but with the management change over I can accept they want to make their own assessments & turn a blind eye to what happened in the previous era.

Koeman wanted Walsh so he could fully concentrate on the team (fair enough) & explain what he needed from a player, then let Walsh worry about getting them there. Based on his comments, Walsh clearly isn't doing enough to make things happen all while getting a very good paycheck from us. I'm sure we all understand January is a bit harder to sign players & red tape can hold up transfers, but I was expecting transfers to be announced almost as soon as the window opened.

Schneiderlin "may" be announced tonight, the way I see it is that he should be straight in the team to play Man City & the less time he has for training to prepare is no good for anyone.

Anyway, to finally finish this rant, I expected 4 signings regardless of the month (make that 5 as it didn't include Lookman) & I'd be very surprised if it happens now!

CM/holding CM - the frenchy
Winger - Bolasie replacement, Depay obvious target but unlikely
AM/#10 - Because Barkley is weighed down with expectation & unfairly criticized
Striker - Cos we are screwed if Lukaku is injured

Guys, it looks as though we've finally agreed to a fee with United for Morgan Schneiderlin!
Hooray, so we can sell the better player in Barkley because Koeman has no idea how to man manage.

Apparently we've agreed to a 10.4 mil price tag for this vegan Van Nistelrooy.

Interesting move, I can't really say he's done a lot statistically or set the world alight in any form. If Steve Walsh rates him then that's enough for me. As Carbine Chaos said he appears to be a similar kind of player as Pelle, persumably a type of player Koeman has requested.

Schneiderlin official.

Morgs will be good for your boys. Will sit and protect the back 4 and can release your AM's a bit more.

Need to get some AM's first... Like his ability to step an oncoming player and has good passing selection/range which will be nice as too many of our DM's play conservative with constant lateral and backwards passing.

a lot of the stuff he does doesn't show up on the stat sheet. he can press and tackle if required but a lot of the time he just stops the oppo midfield playing balls through to the strikers by being in the right position. His passing is underrated too.

Don't know why Mou didn't give him a chance tbh.

How many defensive mids do you normally play? Just Pogba or is Blind a usual starter too?
at the moment it is just carrick as more of a deep lying playmaker who sits in front of the back 4 with Herrera and Pogba in front. I don't think Blind has started at DM under Mou. Sometime there is some spew worthy Fellaini action haha

Some united fans were suggesting that we throw him into the deal for free haha.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Memphis. You guys seem to be interested but Lyon bid for him today.

Yeah, I guess playing the one deep has hurt him, but can't blame Jose for a formation shuffle occurs when you get Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimvic in a short period of time. A veritable embarrassment of riches.

Haha we certainly got the better part of Fellani's career.

Would like Depay but not sure I'd be willing to get close to what you guys paid for him.

Koeman's a quality manager, he built Hampton twice. I think once we get the new stadium we'll start attracting the talent we can now afford. Harder to sell a vision than seeing the bricks and mortar.

Did he really though? He brought in a few players but the core was already there. Explains why they stayed the same since he had that "full year" like everyone wants him to have here, rather than kicking on.

still waiting for your answer about that real manager
you would of picked.
I don't know who was available, but Koeman would have not been on my list. Not now, not ever. An inanimate carbon rod could do better
