Never really seen him play but has a lot of pedigree, has played for PSG, Barca and Roma. Is a French international and was stiff to miss their World Cup squad.

Is a really good age and appears to be a really good price in the modern market.

I think we need two new CB’s more than anything, the Digne deal appears for more advanced than a potential Mina deal.

He’s been quiet about the whole thing, but he’ll enjoy trying to become a star in physically weak league compared to EPL.

By me being pissed off, it’s more about the fact that our last 2 managers have now driven out two of our best prospects. Koeman alienated Barkley, Allardyce alienated Lookman.

They are specifically the type of players we lack & we need right now, players that will take the game on

Which is completely irrelevant now that Silva is in charge. If Lookman can't see that Silva sees him as an important member of the first team squad and was prepared to give him a huge chance to establish himself in the Prem, then...well. Bye. Will make a tidy profit at least.

If we sign Mina I think Rojo would be a good guy to pair him with. Monster as one CB, bit of pace and snide as the second.

They’re very different CB’s and opposite footed, something that did work well with Jags and Distin many years ago. However I just cannot bring myself to rating Rojas, I really don’t think he’s that good. Will cost a large transfer fee, large wages and is injury prone.

He’s also turning 29 so there’s no resale value and it’s hard to see him improving from this point in his career.

I saw 30m quoted, I wouldn't be doing it for anything more than around half that. So it's probably a no go anyway.

Exciting times but really concerned about starting the season with Jagielka/Keane and Schneids. :/

Cooling off on Mina, haven’t seen any of pre season but apparently Silva likes playing a high line with defenders. That explains us shipping them all over the place, but none of our centre backs are blessed with pace to make up for it if an opponent can just run in on goal. Mina has been described as quick for his size, but also that his positioning is shit that he gets himself in trouble so pace is about irrelevant anyway.

Happy to be proven wrong, but Rojo has been described as similar but his disciplinary record is shite as well. That’s a no from me dog.

Happy Williams could be out the door, but we need at least 2 centre backs in if he leaves. Holgate/Keane my preferred pairing as Jags can’t play all the time.

Have been linked with Lascelles again, but what Newcastle want is not what we should be paying. If true, they better not bank on getting it done & let other targets slip away

Ashley Williams have joined Stoke on a season long loan, with this been the last year of his contract he won’t be back.

Kevin Mirallas is reportedly very close to joining Fiorentina on a season long loan.

According to the Echo Vlasic and Martina are to train away from the squad as they’re looked to move on. A bit rough on Vlasic, hopefully we just send him out on loan.
