Nice last couple of games for Chelsea there... in the league, I see them losing only another 2 games max. They really should rake in the double this season.
United have a lot of hard work ahead of them. I can see us losing at least 3 more games. 4th spot will go down to the wire

haha you're all squabbling while Chelsea sit pretty at the top.
Chelsea is better than Man Shitty, Arsenal or Liverpool...

Why is soccer's head so far up its own arse when it comes to the offside rule?

I've never understood why the refs err on the side of stopping play and calling offside when it is not absolutely clear. The presumption should always be that play continues unless there is a clear reason to stop it. It's not like the failure to call offside results in a goal every single time (despite it being the case in this situation).

You need to run frame by frame to clearly see that the Glory player was offside. What exactly do you expect the linesman (whose focus is split between the ball and the last line) to see?

The point of the rule is not about the inches that are often put in issue. It's teams playing the offside trap that make the adjudication of the rule problematic. I don't understand why it's not simply the risk that the defence takes for a potential tactical advantage.

Based on what an individual on the side lines can see offside should be called about 1/3 as much as it is. Half the time they just guess at offside because the attacker seems to have the front position (from the crowd's perspective it's like holding the ball it's only offside because its the opposition).

It's hard for a linesman not to when you have 40,000 screaming nutcases on your back to raise that flag. It's just part of the game and creates debate the day after. Until we bring in some sort of technology for linesman or replace them altogether, i'm happy with the way it is

Linesmen for the most part get 99% of it right still, but that doesn't matter anyway. As far as officials go, the linesman are probably make the least mistakes of all of them.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning, if United win they should make the final of the FA Cup.

Yes at least a final if we beat the gooners tomorrow. It would be utterly disappointing if we didn't, i have found this season boring but intriguing at the same time. Win the Cup and we finish on a high and go into next season confident

Yep, especially if Blackburn manage to knock Liverpool out. Thank the ****ing lord Evans is suspended for 6 matches as well.

So no Falcao, no RVP (potentially) next season. With an already weak defence. Potentially no Di Maria as well. At least we're buying Depay. Need to find two suitable back up fullbacks, two forwards and a centre half.

Nah 1 backup striker is enough cause I'm 90% sure we'll play 4-3-3 next season. The new signing and Wilson are enough to be backups to Rooney. Additionally, Depay is also capable of playing as striker if we're hit with an injury crisis.

One of Rafa or Valencia will go and we'll sign Clyne probably. We need to move on Jonny Evans and buy another 2 CBs, Rojo will be LB or backup for Shaw.

In midfield Carrick and Blind can hold but we need to sign another player like Herrera. Pereira, if he stays, could also be considered.

Will Carrick go around again though? I also think the 4-2-3-1 is our best formation, a Herrera-Blind combination will be the new Scholes-Carrick. Mata playing as a #10 behind Rooney. So, to put a team together:

De Gea
Rafael - Smalling - Hummels - Shaw
Herrera - Blind
Di Maria - Mata - Depay
Rooney

Valdes, Rojo, Jones, Fellaini, Januzaj, Young, Wilson

That's a nice team. Speaking in Football Manager terms here, I reckon our starting formation next season would be 4-3-3, first backup 4-2-3-1 and second backup 3-5-2.

I think he'll go again next year, no reason he can't cause he's still playing at a high standard.

I like the fact that we could have di Maria, Januzaj and Depay as wingers :D

Fair enough, but I think we play our best football with a #10, and Mata's the best player in that role.

2 - 2 with the World Champions. Happy enough with that against an almost full strength German outfit.

I mentioned we only had Cahill and Jedinak as "world class" players but the potential of so many in this squad is scared. Ryan in goal, Davidson in defence, I particularly think Leckie has a bright future on the big stage to.

Terrific result for Amge Postecoglu after a tumultuous initial 12 months in the job. The more this young group plays together, the better it will be.

Aaron Mooy should be playing Europe next season.
I'm not sure what to make of Aaron Mooy. When he is on, he is unstoppable, but then there are games where he is just another player. Not sure he'll likely end up in "the big time" but more likely in a lower division in a holland or Belgium perhaps

He's simply too good for the A-League.

Louis Van Gaal frustrates me. He's brought brilliance out of players that I never expected (Fellaini, Young) yet stubbornly persists with a bloke like Antonio Valencia at RB. He's an average winger who can't defend. Rafael knows how to defend and is much better offensively, yet can't get a game. I want this line up vs Man City:

De Gea
Rafael - Jones - Smalling - Blind
Carrick - Herrera
Mata - Fellaini - Young
Rooney
But that's going to be unlikely. Also, Ander Herrera will be the best CM in the PL next year. Superstar.

This is a massive call.

There are several comfortably ahead of him. Would take severe drops from Matic, Schneiderlin, Toure, etc.

He's fantastic, his form post-Xmas has him up there. If his rate of improvement continues it won't take a drop of form from those you mentioned.
