Conversation on a football message board is like masturbating with a cheese grater: slightly amusing, but mostly painful. ;)

When I first started posting on football forums like TPFP etc, I used to use usernames which incorporated my fave players.
I found this to be a pointless exercise, as said players retired or shifted clubs, and therefore decided to develop a username which was more generic, but still memorable.

Portology: it's one part science, one part creativity and one part belief system.

NB: when element 1870 in the periodic table is discovered, I might change my username to Portonium.

I first started playing the first real online shooter "Quake" in about 1996. I joined an Adelaide 'clan' and a mate of mine had the name Lucifer, and I wanted to come up with a similarly menacing name. I liked the character of Predator from the movie, so that's what I went with. It was a natural choice when I joined BF.

Used to collect Marvel comics, Thor was a favourite character and I had very long hair.

Well my names Scott, and I was born on the 13th (13 is also my favourite and lucky number)

The colour of Nottingham Forests shirt which was based on the red shirts worn by the supporters of Italian politician Guiseppe Garibaldi

Combining AC/DC and PAFC references. "Powerage" was already taken (when I joined TPFP 10 years ago) so "Rising Power" (first track off the Flick of the Switch album) was the next option. When I joined BF earlier this year I updated my avatar accordingly.

Ok, my username is a homage to one of the greatest exponents of our indigenous game:

In the words of Magarey Medallist, Sturt football champion and Australian Test cricketer Victor York Richardson Harold Oliver of Port Adelaide was “the finest all-round exponent of Australian football in my playing and watching experience of it”. Renowned for his spectacular high marking, Oliver was also extremely quick, had exceptional ball handling skills, and showed enormous versatility, being equally at home in attack, defence or on the ball.
