Didnt see a thread about it. Got released yesterday and I must say if you like racing games this is pretty awesome. Done 2 races in Championship mode and just earlier was getting into the time trials. Currently ranked 44th in the world for a wet lap at the Australian track.

Pretty good game

Any F1 gaming fans?

Yeah will be getting this at some stage for sure.

With Rory McIlroy PGA tour & this coming out within a week of each other, along with trying to keep money aside for a) the showdown next weekend and b) the Liverpool game the day after meant something had to give.

Was viewing some of the streams on twitch and it looks pretty nice for sure.

How is online play for this, I remember it was pretty bad on the PS3 it was basically a survival of the 1st corner.
has it improved at all?

Love these games but haven't picked up the 2015 edition yet. Much improved from 2014?

Much much more improved. Really impressed by it.

Havent played online yet. Just trying to get used to the handle and different tracks. Will let you know

Just started a career mode... How cool is the radio dude coming through the controller speaker! It's like you're actually wearing a helmet when he's speaking.

Must save and get some decent headphone's I think.

Had it preordered so picked it up Friday. It's not bad, controls well, controller speaker and saying mic commands are cool, and finally being 60fps is not to be understated.

Game modes are really lacking though. Huge step backwards in that area. Very little customisation of how you want to play is available. Pretty inexcusable in this day and age. Even just a small mission mode like they used to have would have given it some much needed variation.

Would love to see a mode where you can play old tracks like the Old Monza circuit and the old style German track.

Same, the Classic Cars/Circuits mode was awesome in F1 2013.

I've heard the driving is massively improved, but it's severely lacking features/different modes.

Got it on ps4 and the driving/handling is brilliant. Tv presentation style is a nice touch and while it may lack longevity with a lack of modes, for a big f1 fan its pretty intense racing. AI cars attack you and defend pretty aggressively and the interacting with the pits is pretty kool. Def worth it for a racing fan and ive put project cars down for a while

played some online just then, and OMG what an improvement.

you can set it up so you have no collisions now, so if you are about to have a collision, your opponent's car goes into ghost mode.
lag isn't too bad as well, it is a little jumpy sometimes I noticed playing the 7 races or so I did, but still a massive improvement on past F1 games IMO.

I've noticed a lot of de-sync in online on XB1. I've also noticed people getting lap times of 4 seconds to randomly win, not sure what that's all about.

Still going strong. Long time fan of these games though so know it's not for everybody.

Spend two laps trying to get past Maldonado and just when I finally make the move he cuts me off and spins me into the wall.

10/10 realism.

Yeah its more because I can't drive them. I usually download it to see how it is, do a few laps around Albert Park, come last then quit.

Yeah, it does take some getting used to. Make sure you check settings - the game has a habit of starting you off with brake assist etc which makes it more difficult to get your bearings. Also activate the driving line - helps you learn when to brake/accelerate for corners and also shows you a decent line.

For new players I'd suggest going into Quick Race and setting a Practice Session up. Go out immediately (as the track shouldn't be too congested) and just get a handle on things. Go slowly, drive conservatively and as you get a bit more confident, speed it up. If the track gets congested head back to the pits and wait for there to be fewer cars on track as it can be difficult to learn when you're worried about idiotic AI.

At the end of the day it's not for everybody and the driving style arguably frustrates more people than it entertains...but it's rewarding once you get the hang of it.

What the hell is the deal with online? Spend 5 minutes waiting for it to find a race, asks me if I want to join, then when i push yes it just takes me to the "pick what type of online race" screen. Have only managed one online race and had to dick around for 10 minutes waiting to find that.

Bring back the 3 lap sprints that were filled with people.
