Most of the 'ways to look' these days are pretty skanky, including this one. I don't know how anybody makes a fashion statement by wearing the same thing everyone else is.... See lioness's post two above!

I had to wait with a few mates for my girlfriend (now ex) and her friends to go into Supre and buy all this gear. The stuff suited her cos of her bod, and it wasn't all that skanky, but jeez, some of the other stuff in the place was.

I guess it's as simple as supply and demand - this seems to be what young females like wearing, that's why it's selling so well! It's sad in a way, but hey not much you can do if people are going to keep buying it!

Sizing in Australia is completely unregulated anyway. People need to understand that Supre's target market is probably 11-15 year olds with straight up and down figures - ie if you have hips, the pants won't fit you, and the thighs are tight on those pants even on the skinniest girls. If you have ANY difference between your hips and waist, go to another store. People get all annoyed about people making such tiny sizes, but there are people around with super petite bodies, and someone has to cater for them. It's not as if Supre is the cheapest shop around, or the only shop around. They were selling knits for $40 the other day that were identical to the $16 ones in Temt and Valleygirl (who, by the way, are cut the same but have more generous sizes).

Sizing is crazy. I have bought a size 7 skirt (big on me) and a size 14 pair of jeans (about right) in the same store, so it means zilch.

How would you classify mainstream in terms of fashion and music because there are so many different ways to look at classifying things or areas of interest ?

I'm on holiday in NSW at the moment, and right now I'm at an internet cafe (had to do my footy tips ), and with limited time and money, I can't give you much of a response now.
