PC Fallout 1 & Fallout 2

I want to play these games on my Windows Vista Laptop.

I have no discs and no idea how I can play them.

Once upon a time I had a Fallout 2 disc. Unfortunately, I no longer have it.

I've never owned Fallout 1.

Any help?

PM me if you aren't able to talk about here.

Can be bought as a bundle download here, but quite pricey at $90

http://www.fileplaza.com/games/action/details/fallout_bundle.html

There is also some "other" means to d/l them, if you know what I mean.

Simply type "download fallout 1 and 2" into google and you'll find places

Otherwise if you're after the discs, perhaps try EB or ebay??

I brought the two games and the expansion for around $20 off eBay

Have to turn down the monitor settings though :s

I picked up the same bundle a while ago but found that fallout 2 wouldnt actually work unless I downloaded a exe crack for it.

I would download it first and test it out on your vista machine before parting with any money....

Vista has terrible compatibility problems with many old games.

eg: I wanted to replay my old copy of Grim Fandango.......

crashes every 10 seconds if it even starts properly...... even after doing all the fixes that the fan community suggests...... it still has alot of problems with the cut scenes......which is sad because it is probably the greatest videogame story of all time.

Don't be so cheap, a double pack from EB games will cost you $10-$20. Just pick it up like I did.

Fallout 2 works fine for me on my comp running Vista. Only thing you may have to edit is if you get the "Not Enough Hard Drive Space" error.

Edit fallout2.cfg using notepad and under the [system] paragraph edit the number after to say free_space = 0
It usually says free_space = 20480

http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5061 has fixes to more issues too. Check here if you are still having trouble.

Is anyone playing Fallout 2 still? I recently started playing at work in anticipation for Fallout 3. Disappointing reading the NMA forums though. It seems to be the cool thing to bag Fallout 3, it appears that anyone who doesn't gets their post deleted by mods or banned. I find that surprising since the game isn't out yet
